Swansea City have warned fans they will be refused entry into the home end of their ground if they wear Manchester United shirts for Saturday's game. The Premier League champions make their first visit to the Liberty Stadium, with the game a 20,520 sell-out. The ban on United clothing was welcomed by the Swansea supporters' club. The Swans, who have made a bright start to life in the top flight, are urging supporters to wear the club colours of black and white in the home end. Swansea have told fans on their website: "Any supporters wearing Manchester United attire attempting to gain entry into the home sections will be refused entry, and will not be relocated to the away end due to Manchester United selling their full allocation." "I think it's been one of those generic observations that over the course of time it's not unusual to see Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea shirts at matches," he said. "The difference is this season they are all the opposition. "Swansea, like any city, has got a decent amount of Man Utd followers and you are not always going to get the chance to get to Old Trafford and they might see this as an opportunity. "I'm sure anybody who is in the home end and wearing any Man Utd merchandise would be told by supporters before they are ejected." Record sales Swansea City have enjoyed record sales of the club's shirt for their first season in the Premier League. An initial allocation of 6,000 shirts sold out on the first day alone when they went on sale in the summer, with fans having to wait until September for the next batch to arrive. After 30 years in the lower leagues since their last top flight game, Mr Sumbler said people were "once again proud" of supporting the Swans. A Swansea City spokesman said: "It is club and stadium policy that we do not encourage away shirts in the home stands for any game, not just Manchester United. "We cannot currently satisfy the ticket demands for Swansea City fans, who are our priority. "Away clubs receive an allocation of around 2,000 tickets for the away section. Any away fans in the home section deny Swansea City supporters the opportunity to watch the game at the Liberty Stadium." GOOD ON YA SWANS
As I said in a previous thread on this subject, only Swans , Ospreys or Wales jerseys should be allowed in the home end of our club, if any plastic fan who supports a club that they have no real connection with should be refused entry to the stadium! It's bad enough that they support these clubs, without rubbing salt in the wounds and showing utter disrespect to the swans by wearing these opposition jerseys to our games! Basically they are not wanted at our club.
Jager you perve... you honestly think every one else should be naked... in November ... have you seen what the average Jack looks like? Dai asked me to ask you as he was simply too nervous.... he was hoping to wear a little off the shoulder number, is that ok for you?
Well he is welcome to wear his outfit I guess , but I think he will be a bit out of place sitting there in his old work uniform http://www.sabotagetimes.com/wp-content/uploads/cyril.jpg
Well done Swansea in making a stance - I would love to see it as a hard, fast rule at ALL grounds, for every game

Thai out of interest do Norwich have this problem as well ? I see a lot of man utd and liverpool shirts around town in particular , pisses me off that £40 spent on that could have been spent on Swansea gear.
We certainly used to occasionally but it was normally Liverpool games. Agreed, there is nothing worse than plastics If they are from that area originally then I can accept it but most are not. Same here in Thailand, Thai's showing Man Utd & Liverpool stickers/shirts etc - I loathe it. I don't care how much they know about the team, they are not fans and never will be until they get their arse to England to watch them I had to move away to Scotland from Norwich when I was 13 (thanks Dad , I gave my support to the local team - I followed Raith Rovers as they were the nearest professional team to my then home.
I think the stewards/police threw someone out who was cheering for the wrong team. The east stand gave 'em some stick for it too. Anyone else think the game was a bit over policed?
Not really but I spent my time in the platinum suite yesterday, met some of the players of both clubs didn't see fergy to speak too though. I do hope that numpty gets a banning order though, and is never welcomed back to the liberty!
Watching on TV there was a point where all the fans seemed to be watching something going on in the corner of East/North stands.
Someone was Definitley thrown out after the goal. From where it was the seat must have belonged tons season ticket holder. If the ticket holder has sold it then I hope it's taken off him and never returned
It was near me. One guy cheered for them and was singled out right away. The stewards and cops were all over it like a rash and he was taken away in no time. If the owner of that seat is a season ticket holder I think he might be in a spot of bother.
