No of course their not. Does anyone else find it a bit worrying that we have no players of interest to other top teams? All the focus is on who are we going to buy? And we're talking of has beens , unproven in the prem & other various scraps here. It seems like we're hung up on who were going to buy, but we're struggling to hang on to the likes of Routledge!!! With the exception of Adel, who else ( and he is only the subject of media speculation, no one else will have him until January and only if he performs. ) is really premiership class in our team? Don't mistake a good Championship player from Premiership either. I feel like were the ' Scavengers' of the Premiership. I didn't even mention the ageing Italians.
Prem class = Kenny.. By the end of the season will be in the top 8 keepers in the league Faurlin.. Absolute class, will suit the prem, better than Tarbs Mackie.. When fit and fingers crossed gets back to his brilliant best is prem class Gorksy.. bit of a wild card but i feel like red wine centre backs get better with age, could stand out for us and Tarbs as you mentioned 5 at the moment with 4 more to come at least, not bad
If I was to go for any of the squad it would be exactly the same. But as I said, good Championship players, all unproven in the 'Prem.' Hopefully one or two of these will make the step-up. Kenny the new Van der sar, Gorkks the new Vidic, Faurlin the new Fabregas. Mackie the erm, uh, hmm, new uh Beardsley?
I think in the cold light of day only Kenny, Faurlin and Taarabt are really PL quality. The good thing is that the TEAM are greater than the sum of their parts. No-one on 606 honestly believed at the start of last season we were good enough to get automatic promotion, let alone win the title and that tells you the team have something you won't find elsewhere. However, that won't carry this lot through a PL season, we need at least seven PL quality players or this season could become embarrassing.
Smith has to be in. He was on of our unsung heroes last year. He gives 100% all the time and on his day is the best player in the championship (yes, the best).
