I've just read on Sky Sports that they're stepping up the move for Nasri and that they've been in talks with Young's representatives. As a result of those moves and also pretty much clinching deals for De Gea and Phil Jones has impressed me massively. They're moving early and they're moving fast sending out a real signal of intent. I thought they were a fairly average team who over achieved this year but I think next year they're likely to be a force domestically and in Europe. I think we could learn from the way they're conducting themselves. No shooting off on holiday straight after the end of the season. Instead the key men stay in the Old Trafford offices and hash out the moves which will improve them for next year. They don't wait for anyone. Commendable in my eyes. Any views on the matter?
TBH I think we have been highly active so far this window. In fact, maybe the most active in the league. Nothing come off yet but plenty of bids made. That said, none of us really know what's going on at the SOL.
Thing is Steve Bruce gives the board a list of names he wants in the team for next season, and then that is it. He will give the two lists one with definate targets that we should go after and list two will be of players we should get if the first option isnt available etc... Once the lsit is handed over, he can go on holiday cause thats it. Theres nothing he can do regarding transfers into the club, he has said who he wants its up to Steve Walton and the board to negotiate with the clubs and players and agents etc. The only thing Stvee Bruce has a say in is which players leave the club, which in terms of Hnederson he would of been on the phone probably 20 hours of the day lol to keep on top of the negotiation process.
We have a long road to travel, and we are not in the big boys league, our wheeler and dealers just arnt up to modern day financial football requirements, hence we get stitched up, wether we are buying, or selling.
