According to The Sun, Pickford has caught Louis van Gaal's attention and Sunderland are unlikely to turn down bids in excess of £2m. Van Gaal believes the 20-year-old can learn from current No.1 David De Gea and provide adequate back-up to the Spanish stopper. Pickford is currently on loan at League One outfit Bradford and has impressed in his 13 appearances this season.
Seems a strange link this. From what I hear Pickford has a really poor command of his box, and struggles badly with his positioning, but is an excellent shot stopper. Doesn't seem these attributes are stacked the right way, frankly. Anyone seen much of the lad to judge?
Pickfords quality of what Ive seen of him, thats why so far hes represented England at every level. We need to keep hold of him in my opinion.
Never seen him play mate, that's why I asked. I know he's rated and has been for a long while, just my pal who follows Bradford says he's a bit of a 'flapper'.
He probs is mate, its his first experience as a number 1 keeper playing week in week out infront of a decent crowd. Im sure with experience he'll sort that out.
Fair mate, he's young. Be great to see him make it as our number one, being a local lad and that, I'll try and catch a Bradford game if they are on Sky or owt.
Surprised to see he's never played for England at under 21 level. Hasn't got past under 19's yet. Bit of a concern that, big season/two seasons ahead in his development I'd suggest.
Yeah ill look out for when their on aswell. Itd be great if hes challenging for our number 1 in a year or so.
Butlands got that nailed. He should defo be in the squad though. He probs would be if he was a Man U player.
