Its got to be Cattermole, but its a shame to single anyone out from an excellent performance all round.
Catts is looking more mature now, not needlessly giving away frees (well, alot less) and is getting booked alot less. That block he put in outside our box in the second half sums up his attitude for me. Always putting his body on the line, willing to take a hit and make the tackles no one else will. MoM for me, and I hope we keep him, he's beginning to look like the player we all know he can be. He's looking more like that captain he should have been like under Bruce
JOS almost had another goal for us today aswell, pity it would have been an own goal! But that last ditch tackle he did to almost get the own goal stopped Little Pea from defo scoring. So thumbs up from me for him!
Would agree with this and Vergini showed us why he needs to remain at RB, had a class game today as did Colback and Borini, both did some tireless running getting back to defend and closing down. Brilliant performance all round and as has been said, very difficult and unfair to single anyone out but either Brown or Catts just shaded it.
I'm going with Catts, he marshaled the midfield and looked after Mata too. He was immense and his passion for this team is obvious to see for anyone watching.
I've alway rated Cattermole very highly - he's gone of the boil a bit at times, and I've also despaired at some of his wreckless challenges, however, I've always thought he was a gutsy player. He's deserved an England shirt more than other talked up players on here, such as Wickham and Johnson. Having said that, my MOTM was John O'Shea, he seemed to get his head to everything today.
