Who was your choice? Very difficult. I decided to go for Wilkinson in the end, but I could have gone for anyone in the defence plus Super Jonny was just that, super. He never stopped, almost scored a class goal just after Jermaine's goal, and got his deserved goal late on. The defence were first rate, Wilson marked Walcott out of the game, mind you Walcott didn't do much to worry him it must be said, I thought Walcott was awful today. Considering he's been played out of position, Wilson really has shone in the left back position. From what the commentators said (I Sky+ed the game so watched it back) our Medical Team have said Huth will have a scan tomorrow but they're optimistic about his chances of featuring in the Final next Saturday. I thought Jones was a handful up front, held the ball up very well and yet again linked well with Jonny. Whelan and Whitehead did what they do very well, break up play, got tackles in, started counter-attacks. Rory played well, despite being on the left wing, he's been really good over the last couple of months in my opinion has Rory, he hasn't looked out of place in the Premier League lately, considering his advancing years and lack of pace. Pennant started slow but really started to come into the game after he set up the first goal, worked hard as he always does, got down the sides, put crosses in and deserved his goal, even if did have a certain amount of fortune about it.
Sarge When I left the ground yesterday I was convinced that Jermaine was my MOM. I still think that is the case given his setting up of the first (although Arsenal defended it very poorly!) and him scoring the second even though it was deflected. I did not know that until I saw it on TV last night. His work rate is great. I was worried Wilko was going to be sent off in that incident with Wilshere. That was a very poor challenge by Wilshere and for me Wilko showed he still gets rushes of blood to the head with his reaction. It really could have cost him his place next week! Only my opinion! Whelan, Whitehead and Rory all did well. I thought that Abdoulaye was great when he came on for Huth. He was more like the player we know of old. You make comment on Wilson. He is doing so well. Walcott was not allowed to play and that was down to Wilson. Great display. As you say Jones & Walters are linking very well. Super Jon just shows what you can achieve with such hard work and Jones seems to be enjoying himself so much more. I suppose 12 goals helps! Finally Ryan did well on another difficult day for him. He is maturing and got involved quickly in trying to calm things down with Jermaine and Wilshere. A great day for the club and it is good going to Wembley with some really good performances behind them.
