    Good morning,

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of 900 FA Cup semi-final tickets. A Royal Mail van carrying the Manchester City tickets was targeted in the city on Friday. The thieves struck shortly before 7.50pm on Friday in Ashton New Road, Manchester, when two bags of special delivery mail were stolen from a Royal Mail van. The thieves are clearly Manchester City fans, and have performed this sick act so they can cause disruption to the Derby which has been awaited for months.

    Thoughts?

I don't think you can necessarily blame City fans for this. It isn't necessarily fans of either club but more likely people who would attempt to sell tickets on in order to make a few thousand quid.

Besides, if they stole City tickets, you could argue that it may be a hooligan element of United fans, hoping to distribute to them to fellow thugs and cause trouble in the City end.

I don't believe that that is the case but just pointing out that it's a bit simplistic to automatically pan City fans for this.

I don't think you can really call it sick Hizmo. *****philia is sick, bestiality is sick. Theft is morally wrong and criminal, but no more than that.

    Don't be daft. So if I do 35mph in a 30 zone, I'm "sick"? Or if I buy a pirate DVD, I'm "sick"? <doh>

They should just be able to cancel and reissue them with different barcodes / holograms. It's all computerised now so I doubt those tickets will actually get anyone through the gate, although some poor fools may buy them off touts and get shafted.

Indeed. Criminal activity can result in many unwanted things happening. For example, going over the speed limit can cause an accident. Therefore, you might be in risk of killing yourself and pedestrians.

Burning a 2nd class stamp is illegal Hizmo. Is that sick?
A pub serving alcohol at 1 second past last orders is illegal. Is that sick?
If someone's punches someone who has sexually abused their child, that is illegal. Is that sick?
It is illegal for two adult men to have sex in the same house as a third person. Is that sick?
Dying in the House of Parliament is illegal. Is that sick?
It is illegal for a lady to eat chocolates on public transport. Is that sick?

There are plenty of daft laws Hizmo. You're just being silly by claiming that any breach of the law is "sick".
