The amount of money Man City spent was obscene, but I could forgive them last year because the quality of the players was evident with excellent performances, a league win, and being unlucky to go out of the Champions League with a points total that would usually see them through the group stage.

But just a year later, to be out of the title race by the start of February, having done nothing in the Champions League, is very poor and Mancini must take the blame. Who, if anyone, will replace him?

It appears that they have lost their fight since winning the title last year.

A few heads thinking its ok to step off the gas cos they've done it or something?

They effectively lost the title race in the summer.

While United were strengthening the area that let them down last year in signing RVP, City were wasting money on Rodwell & Sinclair - two players that have probably played about 45minutes to football between them all season and were never going to make a difference to thier first team.

City needed to strengthen the middle of their midfield & defence, especially sicne De Jong left and are paying the price with Barry as their main CM and Kompany the only defence CB they have.

Seems like they put all their eggs in the RVP basket and when he went to United, they panicked and didn't have a proper 2nd choice but felt they needed to spend money so spent for the sake of it.

All the money and no brains. Instead of buying expensive, quality players with heart and fight, they buy expensive mercenaries who are ****. Never mind, FFP will come in soon and save them...

    ...wait.

Probably not. Depends on the Chelsea situation. And the Real situation. :D

Think he'd like to play with Fergie one more time while he still remembers who Maureen is....

Personally I think Mourniho is a very smart man and far too smart to go to a **** hole joke of a club like Manchester City.

    Imagine this as your CV

    Barcelona
    Porto
Chelsea ( its in London, near the posh bit of Fulham so while it doesnt count in the same way as all the other teams to be listed here its still better than whats going last <ok> <laugh> )
    Inter Milan
    Real Madrid
    Manchester City Football Club

Something just doesnt look right. It would be like working as the CEO of Asda/Tesco then your next jobs working the check out at Aldi.

Maureen goes where most of the team are already there & the money to buy his finishing touches is given freely. He likes a challenge but with the cards stacked in his favour but doesn't give a stuff about club legacy.

City fit that rather nicely. I'm sure he has preferences but they might not be available at that time.

    So its possible.

Maureen will go to Utd or back to Chelsea.

Don't think the car crash at Citeh is all down to Moon River, their players today looked like they didn't care or know each other, apart from Milner who at least showed some energy, a completely toothless performance.

Pathetic really because it means Utd notch up another title, sigh.

Think he'd do Chelsea again for two reasons other than the one I've given.

    Ego one up on Abramovich.

    Rub Rafa's nose in it.

Its all a game to the man which I kinda like as long as he's not at my club. I know that will get barbed comments but he's not a fit at clubs like Liverpool or United. That's not a slag at the clubs he goes to as theyve obvioysly had great success: just an observation.

I agree with you here Frank, but for his usual short stay (2-3 years) he could keep a team steady until the right man is found.

  19. Mourinho enjoyed going up against Fergie. Jose supposedly likes a challenge but insists on having money to fulfil the ambition. He also has a massive ego to feed. He's won the league and European cup at Porto and Inter, he is hoping to add Real Madrid to that list and once he does he will move on. He has unfinished business in England because he never won the CL with Chelsea. Also, what better way to feed that ego than to feed a man his own words and knock Fergie off his perch...again!

PS...I can't stand Mourinho (before someone accuses me of being biased, bitter or whatever else)
