Planning a bit far ahead here I know, but I'm hoping to get to the City game in December and really don't want to miss out... To give you some background, I'm ashamed to say I've never actually seen the lads live at the SOL. Before you crucify me the reason is I've lived in Norfolk my whole life, and know no other Sunderland fans besides my stepdad who's not particularly keen on football. So I've noone to go to the games with and it would mean a 12-14 hour round trip on my todd, and probably a hotel for the night as well as I wouldn't fancy doing that in a day. On my meager wage it's an expense I can't justify. HOWEVER, there is light at the end of the tunnel as my new mrs is off to York uni come the end of September which means I have a place to crash after the game. Now she's quite a big City fan, so I thought it'd be nice if we could get tickets to see the match against the Mancs at the start of December. So, the point of this thread... What are the odds of me being able to get two tickets for the Man City at the SOL, bearing in mind the only time I've seen the lads live is whenever they've played Norwich at Carrow Road. Also, what's the best way to go about getting tickets? (i.e. stub hub / ticket office (if possible?)/ other)? Cheers lads
you will definatly be able to get tickets for the match. it probably wont be a sell out. just go on the website and set yourself up account with a customer number and get them online. even shows you what seast are available and lets you pick where you want to be
Brilliant, nice one. I'll see how I go but anywhere would be fine really, just happy to get to the shrine at last . And I'll make sure the lass doesnt act up when we inevitably win 1-0
Yeah, I wasn't sure with such a big match whether it would go priority to people who had been to more games like with the Cup final - tried to get tickets to that with my stepdad we had no chance lol, don't want the same thing ahppening again!
it could be one of the games where ST holders can get tickets for a tenner, just post on here when you need them and one of us will sort it out
City doesn't sell out mate, usually 44k, but foir your first visit, you'd rather get in early and be in the lower bowl. Smugs offered, and I throw my hat in, as will WMS, you probs, if it's a likely one off, wanna get yourself in the lower South and soak it up.
Trust you to find an easy way out. As to you PDC you're the reason, I used to jump at Big Chris and his rants about people that didn't live in Sunderland couldn't be proper fans. Hope you get sorted for CIteh fall in love with our ****hole City and move here. It's easier to get to York from here than tractor country too. hahaha
Alright lads, now looking at booking - any advice on eats? I'm thinking somewhere nice and central, in the east stand maybe. Near the bottom in the second tier should be a good view I guess, that sound decent or is there any reason you lads would say avoid that sort of area / recommend anywhere else?
It depends if you're more bothered about atmosphere or having a good view mate. South Stand has been bouncing lately, but if you're close to the pitch you can see feck all down the other end, which is the end we usually attack in the second half.
