That Negredo is a fantastic player. Great goal. Think that WHU may well have an all empty stadium for the second leg if this continues for the next 80 mins. I think it has worked ion our favour Smug as a 2-0 or 3-0 defeat at OT may well have made the 2nd leg a pointless exercise whereas a 2-1 home win has given us something to build on and a self belief that we can compete and beat Man Utd, which is something we haven't done many times over the years. I also think the latest embarrassing outbursts from Moyes and Giggs after the game last night shows they are rattled at the moment and they will be under pressure at home to deliver and I do think that one of Borini, Johnson, Giacherinni or Fletcher can break through and score down there. Our away following is the best there is and that siege mentality will suit our game. I do however see me aging about 15 years in 90 minutes in a couple of weeks mind.
Cest, I'm much less worried than I would be under Bruce or MON. Poyet's 'style of play' means we gain confidence from passing and holding on to the ball. In days gone by we'd have sat back, launched the ball and waited for it to come back. If we keep our heads and score we can get to the final, the last thing we need is the old headless chicken brick wall routine followed by a 'gallant' exit.
Yaya Toure has just gone down and it looks bad, amazed he's coming back on tbh. 2-0 City, Negredo. West Ham look like doing another Forest and they're away at Cardiff this weekend.
Couldn't agree more Smug. I think Gus will already be plotting a route to the final and methodically analysing the team and tactics not just hitting and hoping as we seem to have done for so long under the previous half a dozen managers. I agree if we do go out it will be because Man Utd have raised their game to the very top level and thats what they will have to do. Anything less and we will prevail. BTW, that lad Negredo is the best striker in the league right now for me. The perfect all round player with no obvious flaws. Just scored 2 world class goals in 25 minutes to virtually kill this tie completely. This will finish 3 or 4 nil.
Well said that lad and trust me, we are all still not cocky at all just happy that we have something to take to your place. Its going to be a real cracking cup tie whereas the game tonight is virtually over after 30 minutes.
