So Man City feel that the 115 charges levied against them makes them a "Victim" and that the premier league financial rules are a "Tyranny of the majority" Hearing due to start on 10th June.........things are about to get interesting! Depending on how this goes, it could have massive implications for us, the associated party rules seem to be in the sights. Could lead to some HUGE sponsors for us. Makes you wonder if we've sat back and waited for City to challenge the rules for us so we don't seem like the bad guys.
Yeah, the APT rules are the target of this legal action. Man City are claiming that they are unlawful and are aiming to bring them down.
Wow, it's really unlike the PL to **** around not knowing their arse from their elbow, invite legal challenge and lose. I've NEVER seen that one before. Good on City. They didn't really do anything wrong - it's the likes of Man U and Chelsea that needed bringing down. Man U for their ludicrous owners/borrowing, and Chelsea for their flagrant abuse of any rule they can find. City have no debt, they're just the target of utter jealousy - we've all felt it/feel it, and if NUFC were still owned by Ashley I'd probably still hate them! But we've all said at various stages these rules aren't fit for purpose - or, sorry, fit for one purpose, to maintain status quo. NUFC, Villa and a number of other attractive investment clubs like Forest, Wolves, Leeds, will be watching with intent. And let's make no bones about it - City will win.
100 x match day exec boxes sold to PIF for £2m each per season? And then those boxes get raffled off to members in a ballot each week...
This is really positive news and I've been wondering why these anti competition rules have gone unchallenged for so long.
Erm…… think there’s a slight issue with this. First one being…… where are these hundred boxes you speak of?
Rumour going round that City have been relegated as punishment for the 115 charges and the legal action is on the back of the decision.
According to the original reports, the new lawsuit is separate to the 115 charges and targeted specifically at the APT rules (which didn't even exist when most of the 115 charges were accrued).
