After 20 mins of reapplying to buy tickets I was lucky enough to get two for me and my son. However, I was initially surprised that Swansea's allocation was only 2,800 as I thought the home side had to allow 10% of their capacity for away supporters. That's what Swansea stated when they were allocating Season Tickets: "It leaves just over 2,000 tickets for away fans to satisfy 10% Premier League rules and between 1,500 to 2,000 for matchday sales (in line with minimum Premier League rules) once segregation is taken into account in a stadium capacity of 20,520." http://www.swanseacity.net/page/SeasonTickets/0,,10354~2386966,00.html

As the Etihad holds in excess of 53,000 surely we should have been offered 5,300 tickets for this match?

It doesnt work that way, its something like 10% or 2,000 minimum. So naturally most clubs will hold extra back for their own supporters. We get caught due to the small size of the ground as will QPR. Have read about it recently, but do you thionk I can remember/find out where to post a link. Nah, not a chance !!!!

Isn't it 10% or 300, which ever is lowest. But I'm pretty sure they take segregation out of the ticket allocation as well?

Hi swans, canary in peace <ok>

anticipation in the air hey, loving it! Very impressed so far by rodgers signings and the way your club is going about things, looking good from an outside point of view. Right back to the OT now, with our trip to wigan i believe there stadium only holds 20ish k but if im not mistaken we have been given the entire stand of the stadium which there away end holds upto 5400 fans, im not sure if we have taken up the entire allocation but thats over a quarter of the ground. I think when a club negotiates away ticket allocation they have to weigh up a number of factors, when it is, what day it is, what time kick off is and also if its on sky, plus would look at your following from previous games and notebly last season for teams like us who have just come up.

Anyway good luck guys and heres to hopefully us being still premierleague clubs come this time next year <cheers>

    Holty,

You'll be behind the goal, we were
there last season but I think it's only 4,500 that it holds. The frustrating part is that you will sell out your allocation and see plenty of room in their stands. We were singing "you only need 1 stand" and the "empty seats" songs to them, shocking support.

Anyway, good luck for the season hope we can both stay up
