Never heard of the guy but having captained England U-18s he must be a decent prospect. I know he is only 18 and it's a tragedy what happened but doesn't the sentence seem a bit lenient? Jailed for 16 months and expected to serve half... and then may be released even earlier than that on tag which is quite likely given that he will probably have the best lawyers going. So in all likelyhood, he'll serve about 6 months for killing two people and ripping a family apart, leaving the poor kids as orphans.

It's not like it was a one-off event either, having already been convicted of driving at a similar speed before. Also, he was seen before the crash messing about on the roads with a mate in another car. Clearly didn't learn his lesson the first time. Do you think the sentence is too lenient or do you think that the guilt he will have to live with for the rest of his life is punishment enough?

Is he the kind of person that will feel any guilt though. People like that can burn in hell as far as I'm concerned, I just feel very sorry for the kids.

The most he could have got for 'death through careless driving' is five years. As for whether or not he has learnt his lesson, only he and time can tell. Hopefully he has.

Courts are always to lenient when it comes to things like this. Id be all for increasing the driving age to 21, or at the very least limiting the engines size there allowed. There are far to many boy racers on the roads:biggrin:

What I think is that anything a Utd fan says about this, will most likely be biased because he is a City player. :)
Anyway, I agree, if a guy kills two people because he is driving like a maniac, then 16 months is not justice imo.

I'd like to think my judgement on something like this where people lost their lives wouldn't be bias because of a football rivalry...

But I don't think that his sentence is enough. He'll be out in a few months and we can only hope that he has learnt his lesson from it. Noticed at the bottom too he has been released from Man City but purely on footballing reasons apparently. Must have enough talent to make it somewhere in the footballing leagues though.
