It is clear some of the Cardiff fans don't feel Malky is "big enough" for such a "big challenge" at such a "big club"! When you see the campaign at Aston Villa to try and keep McLeish away, I'm sure Malky can handle this.

For me its all about what Malky himself thinks and wants. Baz and co at Watford must know Malky's feelings - it could be that Malky doesn't like what he can see at Watford and is "looking for something better".

Malky seems to have a choice, I wonder when we will hear from him?

The difference is that a large amount of Birmingham fans wanted McLeish out after he got them relagated while absolutely nobody at watford wants MM to go

Hopefully MM will realise that he has the whole club supporting him at Watford and that to go to Cardiff would be a pointless and possibly negative interim move.

Quite a lot of Cardiff fans seem to rate Malky, and would welcome him as their manager. They appreciate his style of football, man- management qualities and admire what he has done at Watford on a shoestring. They recognise that he is respected within the game, and they think he will not be a prima donna, like some of the other candidates mentioned. Malky will ignore these minority negative comments, if he ever gets to see them. (unlikely). There will always be differences of opinion on fan discussion boards. Look at the WO board when Malky got a new contract--quite a lot of people said he did not deserve it , was leading us to relegation etc. He has not been free from criticism even among Watford fans. It is when boards are practically unanimous that maybe chairmen/managers ought to listen--as with the Aston Villa case.

I wil say this and continue saying this; Malky Mackay had a smaller budget, no investment from anyone, and few players brought in but he still managed to work wonders and perform miracles in his time. I would beg him to stay and kiss his feet if it helped. I am happy to say i will remember this watford legend and will cheer his name as long as he is at the vic and if he returned!!

MALKY MALKY MACKAY, HE'S HAVIN' A BEER AND HE'S HAVIN' A PIE!!!!

In my experience if a club "Asks permission to talk to another club's manager" then that usually means they have already had some sort of clandestine contact and are pretty certain he will join them.

Well if he goes its another personality I read wrong, I thought rodgers had more sense, I think malky has more sense but only time will tell. I do not like clubs living over their means aka City, chelskea, pompey and cardiff, if the owner bails they're stuffed and they were on the point of liquidation not admin a few months ago. What a farce the football business is.

Ok So when are we going to seriously think about AFC watford ? If MM goes ,proves Baz to be a liar , etc shows his agenda is just to cash in , DG Winter ,and the gaffer , obviously nothing is sacred ,GT will probably walk away next week with whats going on and I dont blame him!

I agree. It seems the it's one rule for some clubs and another rule for the rest. Clubs should never be allowed to spend what they don't have and the FA need to step in to stop it.

Norway. I think you are getting way to ahead of yourself. If Malky decides he wants to leave and resigns or threatens to resign forcing Bassini to accept an approach to get compo for him then i don't see what you would like Bassini to have done. Your being very unfair on him IMO

If the owner bails...well they are not....They have just set a clear 5 year goal to have Cardiff in the Prem and to stay in the Prem (not yoyo). They state the debt that Sam says we have is illegal under advice and they are in the process of agreeing on a payout for same... probably 25% of what Sam wants/thinks it is. Their have been suggestions of 20 million to be given to the new manager. Most of us think thats not going to be true, but 10 million may be closer to the mark.

You can see what thy are doing now. They have cleared out the players who they felt were overpaid and did not do enough. This is why DJ was sacked. They didn't want to give him a big chunk of money. They want to give it to a manger that THEY have appointed....not the previous owners.

Don't think that our new managers are wishy washy, weak, or are not in this for the long run. If they want Malky, they will get him.

The majority of Cardiff fans would welcome Malky. Some of us are not sure why we would spend the man on compensation when perhaps Hughton and Di Matteo would be just as good a manager.

I feel that by the end of the week Malky will be the manager of Cardiff.

How can a debt be illegal? You either borrow in some way, shape or form and incur debt or you don't borrow at all; and the last people you "borrow" from should be HMRC as they can get really upset. How repayment of the debt needs to be stuctured sensibly and that seems to be an aim of Cardiff's new owners.

I read some interesting stuff on Cardiff boards about possible transfer budgets, player salary payments and winding up orders. It does seem the previous owners got the club into a right mess and the new ones have their plans and financial muscle, but what happens if the manager of the biggest football team in Wales can't deliver to a schedule set in Malaysia?
