All sounds uncomfortably familiar! The one thing that can be said about RvW, for all those frustrated (including me) at his lack of impact, is that he equally took a leap of faith coming to us. I imagine he was hoping to get on the plane to Rio with his performances in the Prem, but it unfortunately hasn't happened for him (a late rush of goals in the second half of the season might be enough, given other Dutch strikers, and would certainly be welcomed). The one saving grace we have is that if we go down, I suspect RvW won't be able to leave... Which means we will have (to my mind at least) a very high quality CF to help us try to get promoted back up...
Sadly Rob, I think Malky got duped, Cornelius is just a talented youngster, and I said at the time that neither he nor Helenius ( at Villa) would make the grade, at least yet. And in all honesty it doesn´t take much to break into the national Danish team, especially when the only competition you´ve got is Niklas Bendtner.
I think he might have even done a half decent job here this season, I recall him having decent loan spells with poor Birmingham and Sunderland teams.
Not sure Munky, he was a bit younger then, slow and pretty lazy now, needs a lot of chances to score, and is on pretty steep wages. Happier with what we´ve got I think.
Just looked him up, Bendtner has scored 23 goals in 103 appearances for Arsenal, whereas by comparison Hooper scored 63 in 95 appearances for Celtic.
I'd wager Hooper started a lot more games for Celtic than Bendtner has for Arsenal though.........Hang on! Why am I defending Bendtner!?
Yes it is, absolutely, but I´m afraid Bendtner has still flattered terribly to deceive. Also he can be a little bit of an unruly presence in the dressing room, not averse to a bit of scallywagging.
