http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-malky-mackay-6285368 The Cardiff manager says he intends to be managing the club in the Premier League a year from now despite the off-field problems that have engulfed the club recently Malky Mackay has made it clear he expects to be Cardiff City manager in the long-term â and is planning ahead in the quest to keep the Bluebirds at Premier League level. The manager's comments will be a huge boost to Bluebirds fans who have been left reeling by a series of off-field events and revelations surrounding the club and Mackay's relationship with owner Vincent Tan in recent weeks. âWe are all working to ensure Cardiff City is again playing top level football next season,â said Mackay during his pre-match Aston Villa press conference. âI want to be talking to the media in a year's time as Cardiff City manager in the Premier League. âWe relish being in the Premier League in terms of players and fans. Our aim is to be the best we can be and finish as high as we can. âI am proud to be manager here. We have worked hard as a staff for two and a half years to take our beliefs forward, mould our squad to the point we have reached now. âWe will keep moving forward and make sure everything we do is for the best of Cardiff City. I will always do my best and that will never change.â Mackay was asked about his mood going into the Swansea City match after nationwide publicity surrounding the departure of Iain Moody, Cardiff's former head of recruitment, and the appointment of Alisher Apsalyamov as acting replacement. âMy mood going into the game was focused on the team, my team always comes first,â says Mackay. âThose players and what we are trying to do. They are the important factors. âBeing in this division again next season â that's what counts. âEverything else is put to one side. There is pressure every week to win matches and we are in a huge media spotlight every week. âThat's the pressure. Anything else makes no odds. âWe want to be competitive and finish as high up the League table as we can to make sure we are there again next season. I am delighted how the group have settled into life at Premier League level. âThis is a tough, uncompromising League. At any minute the individual quality of a player can undo you.â
They've always seemed very interested in news relating to this area of our club, so lets see the Jack invasion based on this. Being serious MM committing himself despite the fact the Norwich job could be available very soon is great news.
What else did we expect him to say? I hope he stays for a long time but the situation could change at any time. It depends on Tan's next stunt.
Nobody other than a certain few in the club know how things are going. Lots of rumours, half truths and Bullshit is being spouted at the moment.
Good news for you if it happens but while MM may have these intentions if other people (mention no names) have other ideas then it counts for nothing. Only time will tell
VT is not going to sack MM till the summer at the absolute earliest IMO. So the fact he's making noises about staying with us is good news because him 'moving' to another PL side is the only way I see us losing him in the immediate. I don't want to turn this into an ownership thread but VT is not an idiot. He is a very astute business man. The best thing for this business is to keep MM, as it looks like he can keep us in the PL (I know it's very early days). Still nothing has come out about Moody but MM seems to have accepted it even if he's not over it. Let's see if the Daily Mail know everything about anything we try to do in January. If they don't I think you'll have your reason for why Moody was shipped out. I'm off to Birmingham now, BLUEBIRDS!!!
