I'd take that deal, and i'm not a massive N'Zog fan.

Steed for all his brilliance on the ball, slows the game down to much, he's been wonderful to watch, and he'll do well for them (if true...), we are desperate for a lefty, and N'Zog left, Larsson right unquestionably means service to whoever we have up top.

    Fingers crossed.

Malbranque is on a high wage so it would be a good deal all-round get rid of an ageing player for a younger, faster model with only a marginal increase in the wage bill. Perfect.

Cant understand the love for Steeeeed, except his passion to play. I have always thought him a one-trick-pony who can hold the ball and spin in a small circle with it until his marker is dizzy, then he proceeds to kick the ball to the opposition, or out, or 20 yards over from 18 yards out. Plus, he cant last 90 minutes. Use him as a lever by all means. Tara Steed; hello N'zog

Funny - before this was posted, I said on another thread that we could possibly expect insomnia to be here for pre-season.

Hope we are both right - my itk is still pretty confident, but not as sure as he was before the end of the season.

But according to our neighbours Zog's desperate to go back to Newcastle.

Malbranque PLUS 10 mil? I think that may be a bit pricey, for all his stamina problems Steeed is immensely skillful, and though I would prefer to have N'zog here I think that that much extra money is slightly taking the piss.

The way some people talk it's as if Zog is a guaranteed signing for us ... we've well and truly missed that boat.

Hmm, interesting. I read exactly the same story on a transfer rumours website on Tuesday. It would be nice to believe it was true, but we all know that 90% of rumours are utter bollocks. If it comes off, great!

....but I maintain my belief that he will return to SJP.

I think 10 mil is reasonable, but not with a player as well

Well having read the 'transfer news' thread, according to the 'ITK' the deal will be completed next week, once 'potato head' is back from his hols'. Before anyone as a go, these word's aren't mine but taken from their thread.

I assumed Bruce was already back, as another ITK on another thread said he was to be at 'Royal Ascot' this week presumably with Quinn.

Anyway I hope the deal goes through.

    Never said that FFH.

My itk (reliable but rare) was 90% sure we would be signing him - this was b4 the end of the season.

Was talking to his best pal earlier today, who said we are still faves but less likely to sign him, coz o the sky4 interest (which I thought was Pool, but it's not)

If we dont get him, fair enough - as long as we have offered the going rate and offered the appropriate wages, no-one can say we didn't try. But dont offer £8.5m or him £5k short of what is realistic. Wont accept cheapness any more. Will begrudgingly accept losing to a better location. I think that is fair.

Yeah I know mate, wasn't necessarily referring to comments on this thread, that's just the opinion I get in general whenever Zog is mentioned.

I hope your source is correct because I'd love to see him in the red and white stripes, he's the kind of winger we've been crying out for. Time will tell I guess, few of my Mag mates seem convinced he's heading back their way (wishful thinking?), we'll see. I think it depends on how much the Bruce factor plays a part on Zog's decision.

Don't quite follow this, maybe it's just me but we are led to believe through an ITK that we have got him in a 10m deal plus player.

Now we are favourites but won't go through with the deal.

    Sounds strange!!
