A can of worms, I know, because there are hardly any 'minus points' , but which aspects of a brilliant, breathtaking and highly successful campaign have been the most notable? Well, Holt and Ruddy's performances have been spoken about at great length and both appear to grow in stature with every match they play. Both fully deserving of their POTS awards The continued emergence of Pilks, Elliott Bennett, David Fox, Russell Martin to make the transition from Huddersfield, Brighton, ColWho and Posh respectively. To not be fazed by the bright lights of Rooney, Van Persie, Gerrard etc and adapt so quickly to the pressure cooker of top flight football is immense. The January captures of Howson and Ryan Bennett. Two potential NCFC team captains and leaders in the making - not to mention future international players, based on what we've seen so far The fact that after just one (blindingly good) season, 'doing a Norwich' has now become a buzzword in the lower leagues, as teams like West Ham, Southampton and Reading look to emulate what Lambert has done by achieving success through hard work, determination and teamwork - rather than blowing their newly gained Sky tv money on wannabes or has beens, as in the case of a certain West London club Finally - it's too easy to single out certain players for credit - but whoever has been involved, throughout the entire season, has stepped seamlessly up to the plate and not let anyone down. Take a bow, Simon Lappin, Aaron Wilbraham, Bradley Johnson......sod it, take a well deserved bow each and every member of our fantastic squad of players, management and coaching staff - and boardroom! Reasons to be cheerful - just a few of the many highs of this amazing season
i think its impossible to highlight just one plus point, but i'll try by going for the two january captures - howson and bennett. i think its fair to say we have two potential england players for a combined fee of £5m. incredible value for money and further proof that our manager is a genius in the transfer market. he'll need to pull two or three more out of the bag in the summer to help us progress again!
Personally I was delighted to see Holty stuff his critics words back down their throats and move from "He'll never socre in the PL" to being the second highest scoring Englishman this season scoring some absolute belters on the way. Completely agree with Howson and Bennett - I though Bennett looked unbeleivably assured yesterday - quality interceptions/positioning and cover as well as excellent distribution. I reckon he'll go a long way in the game. I also think our other Bennett probably gets my nod for most improved player of the season.
