He's quite good I was thinking of doing a thread to gauge opinion from other fans so here it is. I'm sure everyone will agree that he's a top player and not going through a purple patch.

In the event of someone disagreeing, I'll be glad to back you fellas up. I've already got him in my fanatsy footy team and he's grabbing me loads of points and we all know this is the true gauge of a class player.

So how good is Mr Mahrez?

He's rubbish. Often loses the ball in his own half by trying to beat a player instead of a simple lay off. Weak defensively. Occasionally does something useful going forward. Vardy is rubbish as well. Dont believe stats or fantasy football stats in particular. Second rate players, but we put up with them (hopefully for a few years to come).

Bit similar to Vardy in that he's full of confidence. Mind boggling tricks, great pace, exceptional space awareness (just watch how he makes the chance for Vardy against Southampton when Vardy put it over the bar).

He's got all the atribues apart from fitness (doesn't seem able to complete a full Premier League game) and strength (he goes down seemingly too easily when he'd often be better playnig on. Note that that doesn't make him a diver).

Mahrez is good, but can have off games, and its alot more noticable when hes not delivering the goods, which in a way shows how class he can be when things are going his way.

Hes not one to track back and help defend that often, but still a very exciting player to have if you can accommodate him <ok>

Ive never never seen a player go past defenders as easily as Mahrez does.

Still alot to learn but he has all the skill and ability to go a very long way. Hopefully in a Leicester shirt.

It's his balance .. made the analogy more than once that he is positively 'balletic' - he is so light on his feet that his changes of direction are very hard to read and even more difficult to counter ... as evidenced by the number of opposition players he puts on backsides ...

George Best remains the best 'dribbler' I've ever seen; again incredible balance but also rugged and brave - would ride tackles that today might constitute criminal offences - when George dropped a shoulder defenders were already on their way ... Mahrez would give him a run for his money on that front - certainly I have never seen anyone like him in a Leicester shirt ..
