Just seen this interview with Mahrez and there are some interesting things in it other then the x-factor story that everyone needs to have now - I didn't realise that both he and Kante are both former non-league players like Vardy and it does explain their work ethic. He also answers the Barcelona rumours: http://www.theguardian.com/football...y-riyad-mahrez-father-dream-algeria-world-cup
Its important they retain some of the non league influence on their play Vardy runs around like a headless chicken at times which causes problems for the opposition and wins us cheap corners, throw ins and possession. Mahrez has started this season really well and the way the media are going on as if he is a new signing. He was incredibly talented when we signed him and Nigel nurtured him into the player he is now. Ranieri has just unleashed him
... have to disagree slightly ... can't really buy a brick-wall centre-half nurturing a talent like Mahrez into the player he is now ... Mahrez has just grown and grown in confidence and self belief ... and a great deal of credit for that has to go to Ranieri (as opposed to Nigel) ... just my view of course ... but I suspect under Nige, Mahrez might even have been hauled off for giving the ball away somewhat carelessly for their second ... Nigel does deserve credit for backing the scouting team in bringing in such a mercurial talent ... Not long ago I saw a reference to Riyad being the 'new Muzzy Izzet - let's put that to bed quickly - loved Muzzy - most skillfull player of his era ... but Mahrez is way beyond ... right now he would get into any team in the Prem, IMHO ... Muzzer was never quite THAT good ...
Can´t see him being a LC player next season. I do hope that he stays til atleast then though, I hate it when players leave in Jan (unless they ain´t getting a look in that is)
Berahinho £22m? ... De Bruyen £55m?... if we do lose Riyad we should now be looking to recoup a huge fee with further sell ons ... but the beauty of it is that we do not need to sell ...
