Stoke have been invited to make a move for ex-Real Madrid star Mahamadou Diarra by the player himself, reports Metro. The Potters and Premier League rivals Fulham have both been tipped as possible destinations for the Mali interntional after his six-month deal at French club Monaco expired. The free agent is wanted by the Ligue 1 side, but the midfielder is said to prefer a move to England over extending his stay in France. He said: "Yes, the Premier League is somewhere I would love to play and I'm looking forward to that. "I have other contacts, but a very good club in England would be my favourite option. "I am looking forward to next season. To be honest, if injuries do not come, I will have a great season." Signing for either Stoke or Fulham would secure Diarra's dream of top-flight English football, and also ensure he plays continental club football since both sides are competing in this season's Europa League. Reports in the African media claim a move to the Potters is the most likely outcome.
