but to be fair Ben Arfa and Tiote were bargains as they are very good players, Nolan wasn't too bad of a buy either but the rest..................

To be fair, I think he mentioned why is Carroll in there because they havnt had time to spend it. But I think the percentages are right and Newcastle will be lucky to spend around 50% of the money they've made

Didn't you make two bids? So obviously you did have a chance. Twice!!
Just to rub it in cause I can tell your a bit of a prat. If your club choose to sell their prize asset rite at the end of the window you can't really complain, can you?

What's your point, that the club tried to sign a couple of players half an hour before the window shut?

So you're either the only Sunderland fan in the world who will suggest our board AREN'T against spending money? Either that or you'll have to concede the two bids were never going to happen, thus proving we had NO ****ING CHANCE OF SPENDING THE MONEY FROM CARROLL like I said..

Well if you realise that they had no chance of signing anyone before the end of the window and you seem to be thick as ****e, then surely your club must have realised that they could get no one in as well, so it was a waste of time even making the bids. To be honest even if you sold carol at the start of Jan, then the chances of you bringing in anyone even half decent for around a million quid would have been slim, as the list above illustrates your club aren't against spending money just as long as they are in the price range that a lower championship team would be able to afford.

"AREN'T against spending money?" God I hate double negatives!!! Only to be expected I suppose.

Look pea brain. You made two bids with the money from Andy (I love NewcARSEtle) Carroll. That would suggest that at the very least your club made a half arssed attempt to placate the masses by spending the Carroll cash. Therefore you DID have a chance to spend, twice in fact.
The timing of Carroll's departure is down to him asking to leave (extra 50k a week) and Ashley saying yes (35M) in the full knowledge the window was about to shut.
You were in the end, stitched up like a kipper. Again.

    Are you enjoying your calender?

Cyprus mackem has it spot on. As much as I love baiting the mags (fish .. barrel) can they not see that Ashley is ruining their club. Cannot see the the point of the thread (& pap name by the way). If the guy is trying to defend Cashley he's definitely not speaking on behalf of the mags I work with.
Just makes me grateful for the holy trinity in charge at our club.

Cyprus sums it up perfectly. Leaving the sale so late gives Ashley a great excuse not to spend the money immediately.
He then makes a token effort to placate the fans with a couple of daft 'bids/enquiries', which cretins such as troll keep lapping up.
    Custard creme anyone?
