Nice comments by Coyle after the game:

Wenger has been heavily criticised by some Arsenal supporters in recent weeks but Bolton boss Owen Coyle believes the Gunners will bounce back.

"They've suffered with injuries to key players," said the Scot. "But when Arsenal have their full disposal of players they can go toe-to-toe with anybody.

"Who's to say that Arsenal can't win the FA Cup or Champions League? I certainly wouldn't write them off.

"They've one of the best managers we've had in world football, they've an elite squad of players and there's no doubt it only takes one big performance, one big result to kick-start that momentum again.

"I'm pretty sure Arsenal will look to be in amongst the honours when they are handed out at the end of the season."

Coyle clearly knows a lot less about football than a 'majority' of Arsenal fans.

Keep that to the other thread please HF.

I am just pleased with some nice comments from another manager. Although he must like Arsenal as we keep lending him promising players.

I thought that was kind of him to come to Wenger's defence..... I do not agree with him however, I think our problems are more deep rooted and it's not just as a result to injuries to "key" players..... Most teams over the course of the season will have injuries/suspension/players being off form, but the key is preparing and dealing with those challenges....

You are quite correct. I should have said 'most'. :p

Yes, nice sentiments from Mr Coyle, but then it is always easy to be magnanimous when your team have just won the cup - at least that's what it must have felt like to Bolton last night :)

He did say some nice comments, especially after that unsavoury Cahill incident. However, im sure he's keeping us sweet at the sme time so we continue with loaning our players to him. Im looking forward to seeing Miyaichi play and hopefully he can make an instant impact. I can see him causing a lot of teams trouble with that electric pace of his!

There's no other answer Coyle would give- he has to stay in Wenger's goodbooks if he wants to benefit from our loans.

Not true its just a vocal minority.

However I imagine Coyle's comments are influnced by all the quality players we loan him!

I agree with much of what Coyle said but attributing to our disappointing run of form to injuries to key players misses the point somewhat. The vital point seems to me to be the quality of the squad. If we had better quality at our disposal ready to come in when others were injured the current spate of injuries would not have hurt us so much. I will concede, however, that with regard to full backs we've been desperately unlucky. I think when our squad is fit we're actually quite strong in that department.

    he is being diplomatic.

also wants the arsenal job in the future.

Better than being one of fergie's lackeys.
