March 2012/13 Ipswich A lost 1-0 Leeds H drew 1-1 S Weds H lost 0-1 Cardiff A drew 1-1 Derby A lost 2-1 Millwall H lost 0-1 = 2 pts form a pos 18. 7th 7th - P39 W17 D8 L14 PTS59 March 2013/14 Charlton H won 3-0 Barnsley A won 0-3 B´pool H won 3-1 B´burn A drew 1-1 Yeovil H drew 1-1 Burnley A won 0-2 = 14 pts from a pos 18. 1st 1st - P38 W26 D7 L5 PTS85 I must admit I was very nervous about our run in (March & April) & although April is yet to come we can´t really cock it up now ... can we ? 3 wins with 8 to play & 4 at home is all that´s needed. I would like to think we will get a few more than 3 though.
Terrific stuff this season. I've had to consume dish loads of humble pie. I didn't want Pearson back and wanted him out this time last season, but boy has he proved me wrong. All the players seemed to have upped their levels and tactically Pearson has got all his decisions right. Thought yesterday was an excellent performance by the whole team with great support from the fans. Particularly impressed with Mahrez. Considering he's only been here for a few months, can't speak the language etc. he looks a real player.
... the reality is that we won't even need that .... one of QPR or Derby would have to win all their games for us to need to win the 3 ... if we win one more then Wigan can't catch us ... Derby have the easiest run in of the chasers on paper ... but they are playing a few sides facing relegation and look how tough we found Yeovil ... personally I think 4 more points may be sufficient for promotion perhaps less ... but we want to win as many as we can starting with Wigan on Tuesday ... (particularly as I tipped us to win at both Burnley and Wigan )
Id be surprised if Derby or QPR cleared 85 points tbh, Pearsons warming up his hands to pickup the promotion trophy. Maybe not the Championship one (although this weekend made it ours to lose!) but automatic is def on the cards now.
