Our defence is sound but our MF isn't building a foundation for our forwards,
who in turn are not scoring.
I saw the friendly v Hereford and was impressed by Kenneth. I'm trying to forget
the image of him last pre-season v City - two Ian Dowies welded together!
He has slimmed down, is dominant in the air, and can distribute the ball.
I'd have Santos and Harrison on the bench, and give Smith and Brown licence
to attack in a 1-3-2-3-2 formation. Something like -

    Mildenhall

    Smith McChrystal Lockyer Parkes Brown

    O'Toole Kenneth Norburn

    Brunt Richards

    Ok...........only an idea....................................

No P49, I don't think it's madness to play Gary in central midfield. Only demented!

Seriously though, we would have no width and no pace with that line up. I don't think we should try and accommodate Gary for the sake of it - he needs to win back his place.

Do you know how Gill is getting on? Anywhere ready for a return yet?

    Hi Bb.
I don't know how to space things....I meant to show a back three with Lockyer as the more mobile sweeper.
Smith and Brown outside them going down the flanks...both can shoot and put in crosses.
Gill played tidily on Tuesday...but wasn't a game changer!!

the "space things" <laugh> just use lots of full stops or hyphons ;)

if i had to use the same starting 11 as you picked p49 and the same formation, i would swap kenneth and lockyer around to how you had it.

    ----------------Mildenhall----------------
    -----McChrystal-Kenneth-Parkes-----
    Smith----------Lockyer----------Brown
    --------O'Toole---------Norburn--------
    -----------Brunt-------Richards---------

but i would go all out attack 433

    ---------------Mildenhall----------------
    Smith--McChrystal--Parkes--Brown
    ------Norburn-Lockyer-O'Toole------
    Santos---------Brunt--------Harrison

with this we have experience at the back and supported by a defensive midfield role by lockyer which allows norburn to be creative and o'toole to get forward whenever possible. with teh trickery and pace of harrison and santos beating the full backs and brunt in the middle, thing we be just fine with this on saturday. at any time we can go defensive when needed into 451 pushing santos and harrison back.
