I do not know if it is true but I have read several tweets on twitter this morning that Martin Allen took the players to the Strand for a swim at the Lido yesterday. Looking for some pictures, I came across this forum with some very old pictures of the Strand...http://www.kenthistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=1556.15 So I thought for some fun, what do you reckon would be the wackiest hour/morning/afternoon/evening or day training regime that Mad Dog could give the players to do. The more crazier the better. What ever you suggest every player has to be able to take part in for team solidarity (NO porn or impossible tasks). I will think of mine for posting later. Hopefully we can give Mad Dog a few ideas...
He is a big fan of swimming! I know when he was at MK Dons the players used to moan about 6 am trips to the lake for a dip!
Now that would be funny. We are going to Southend lads. But this is the Strand boss? Yeah, start swimming
Who do you follow on Twitter, BRB to get that info?I follow Framps and Keds but didn't see anything from them.
I try and follow most of the lads but it was not from any of them. It was from a couple of fans. Not sure if it was genuine or not as per the OP but from several people, I see some of them also talk about trying to get down the training ground. If you look at the bottom of this post, you will see my twitter link in my signature. Follow me and I will follow back, some of the other lads on not606 are followers as well so you will be able to add them as well. Can you send me a tweet or a DM so I know it is you. ps. I only generally follow back Gillingham fans or players with the odd exception. That way I can try and keep my followers to the topic of my interests.
I believe it is true that they went to the strand but one think I do know is that they went to Nando's at dockside at 1, you may have seen some of them talking on Twitter about it also I went down dockside today for lunch with a mate and see them there but did not want to hastle them but I did get to speak to Ashley Miller and Bradley Dack which was good, the team have been quite lucky they have been out for 2 meals in 2 days. Ash is quite optimistic about the new season and wants to nail down a regular place and also Dack said that he hopes he can make this a season to remember for himself I hope they do have a good season as they are 2 great players who have great futures and if we can see the best from them they will play regular, I can't wait for Dack to make his debut. Good thing is that Fuller is lightly getting back and also Birchall is back now so hopefully they can get a good pre season behind them.
hoadie the man in the know ! what did the bill come to, what players are coming in, who's the keeper coach, when are fish, frampton, martin & montrose leaving us and when are the shirts out ??? only kidding hoad...keep up the good work
HAHA I did not go in Nando's I could see they were all there the only reason I spoke to them is that they were just going in there as they arrived late, I was gone by the time they had finished eating. Wish I knew when Frampton is leaving, give us a date please.
When I was at School in Gillingham our sadistic sports masters had us running up and down the Darland Banks, because they believed it to be 'character forming'. This would no doubt appeal to MA as well, and he could buy the squad half a shandy and some pork scratchings for the team talk at the 'Flyings Saucer' Hempstead afterwards ?
I hear that the team had special training shirts for the jaunt at the Strand - complete with a new badge please log in to view this image
