JAMIE MACKIE'S BACK IN SADDLE ABOVE: Mark Hughes is confident Jamie Mackie will return back stronger after being sidelined through injury Some people can cope with change, others canât â and it can be a difficult process Mark Hughes 11th February 2012 By Matt Butler MARK HUGHES has backed Jamie Mackie to put his horror leg break to the back of his mind when he returns to Ewood Park with QPR for the first time. Mackie suffered a double break in an FA Cup clash at Blackburn in January last year, which kept him out of action for 11 months. And Hughes admitted the incident could play on his strikerâs mind today, saying: âI would imagine there might be a moment when Jamie runs in the same area of the pitch where it happened that he may think about it. âBut it is like getting back on a horse. âIt may be a fleeting memory but I donât think it will affect the way he plays or produces.â Ex-Blackburn boss Hughes admits he is saddened by the plight of the club â and believes it is in a state because the owners tried to change too much too soon. He added: âSome people can cope with change, others canât â and it can be a difficult process. âThere seems to be a strength of feeling that the fans are not getting the information they want and need to understand what is going on at their club.â
I can't see Mackie holding back in any situation, he's certainly been the same old Jamie since returning. If he is starting will it be on the right or as a striker?
Im sorry but I he is nowhere near good enough.Weak link. Traore should replace him with pace, skill and a decent cross...Mackie has none of these
Would be an interesting test to put Jamie up with Zamora, he does have an eye for goal and would pester Blackburns defensive line. And we could put SWP on his preferred right wing.
I think Mackie would be good to bring on up front in the last 15-20 mins he would definitley be a handfull for a tired back four but I wouldn't start him, hopefully sparky has seen by now what we all know that Troare should be left wing
Well done Mackie!!!! Great performance to drive us back again. Passion, drive and a gutsy performance. From a lad that has come back from a broken leg and has taken so much criticism on here. Well done lad!!
Some humble pie on here tonight, I thought Jamie wasn't really up to it but he was head and shoulders above the others today in both effort and finishing, keep it going...
MH must now realise what he has to work with, not alot.He will keep praising those players he has even though he knows they are not good enough.
