Forward Mackie has started each of the Rsâ last three games and has been one of Neil Warnockâs most impressive players, having a hand in goals against Stoke and Norwich. The Scotland international made Warnockâs 25-man squad at the last minute after recovering from a broken leg which kept him out of action for nine months. With the manager set to sign new players in January, places will be under scrutiny, but Mackie (pictured) wants to make himself irreplaceable. âI want to be playing football every week, I want to start every game,â Mackie told London24.com. performances will dictate whether I do but I feel that since Iâve been back in the side Iâve been playing really well. âI want to show people that Iâm not just there happy to be in the Premier League, I want to become a regular Premier League player. âItâs going to take a few seasons to do that but I want to make sure that by the time Iâm finished that Iâve done that.â Meanwhile, QPR are sweating on the fitness of winger Shaun Wright-Phillips for Saturdayâs clash with West Bromwich Albion at Loftus Road. Wright-Phillips suffered a foot injury in the defeat at Carrow Road, leaving the ground on crutches. Warnock confirmed there is no break, but said the player will undergo âextensive treatmentâ this week. QPR striker hopes to end goal drought against West Brom JAMIE Mackie insists it's only a matter of time before he starts scoring goals in the Premier League. The QPR striker has failed to find the net in seven appearances in the top flight, but was a lick of paint away from opening his account in last weekend's defeat to Norwich. Mackie managed nine goals last season before a horrific double leg break at Blackburn in January, and is confident they will start to flow again soon. The 26-year-old will be hoping to break his duck in Saturday's clash with West Brom, who he scored against during his time with Plymouth, but insists he's not worried by his goal drought. He said: “Other people may think about it more than me. I know if I keep getting in the right areas and carry on playing like I am I will score goals. “I'll keep training hard and working on my finishing. I'm not worried about it. “I do really want a goal. I feel I've been really unlucky that I haven't scored so far but it's only a matter of time. As long as we keep on getting results it doesn't matter who scores.” Jamie Mackie went head to head with Darius Knight ahead of the Fred Perry Urban Cup, a nationwide table tennis tournament for youngsters aged 11-14 in partnership with Premier League 4 Sport and the ETTA. The finals are taking place in London on Saturday 3rd December. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest QPR news. Follow me on Twitter. iReader
He's an absolute star. Coming back from such an injury, he's making incredible progress. Goals will come, as we saw for Scotland.
Yeh, he's made great progress, seems really fit, and works like hell. But I'm not yet convinced he's technically good enough to be starting games for us as a mid PL table level Club - hope I will be soon! He deserves all the success in the world.
Goals will come,he is to good a player to go very long without hitting the back of the net,Saturday will be the day, i have a feeling in me water.
Like other posters, I really hope he scores this Saturday. Not sure his (excellent) goal for Scotland signals an imminent premier league goal glut, however. It was against Cyprus - population similar to the average London borough.

Whilst he has a considerable way to go, he reminds me a little bit of Kevin Keegan: not the most technically gifted forward in the world but made up for that with an incredible work rate. Whilst I thought Jamie might initially struggle with the step up to the Prem, he has looked at home there this season and I think he can get better.
