At least Bents 24M went into the war chest. Not so sure Cashley won'tl syphon some off for himself and clawback some of the loan. 35 Million if that's the price is nothing short of amazing. As one of the smaller clubs Newcastle could not refuse such an offer could they?

Bent's betrayal pales into insignificance - he was a big part of our strike-force for sure but he wasn't a local lad and we were not going to build a team around him. Probably see scousers looking to follow Caroll now... who's next? Barton? Nolan?
