After many days of rumour, there are too many reports saying Malky will be appointed new Cardiff manager tomorrow. Compensation is around £300k. Oh dear. How much longer will we have to wait for BtB to produce something positive? They say to stand still is dangerous, but we are taking a huge backward step. The spectre of relegation looms.
Same things were said when Rodgers left... The academy is still running, our squad has lost a couple of important players but all-in-all isn't that bad, Malky hasn't left yet but if he does there are lots of capable managers out there, we've sold enough to cover things in the short term... It's not that bad...
I dont think its all over just yet especially if we demand a larger compo package! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...uebirds-in-hunt-for-new-boss-91466-28859592/?
Thought Malky was supposed to be better than BR - he signed a new contract in January after the takeover and knowing the financial situation - why would he jump ship - he does not even have Judas' excuse of it being his former club
Reading the bit that Norway has found, it looks as if there is a wide choice open to the Cardiff board. Seeing as the article states that MM is on a long term contract I cannot see why they would want to tempt him away, unless they know that he is unhappy and wants to leave.
I would like to think this was rubbish but MM didn't say no to Burnley when they want him and he might see Cardiff as a step up.
I think we need to stay a bit calm. Yes Malky never said no to Burnley but if I recalled he said he wouldn't comment full stop, which, to be fair is a good position to take I think - look at Rodgers. Looking at the article Norway has posted, I'm more confident than I was. It says that they have interviewed several candidates. Malky has been away and no official approach made so he cannot have been interviewed, unless he did it on the sly which I would doubt. So it seems unlikely he is being appointed tomorrow. Secondly, they want a man in quick. They would have to negotiate a fee with us and then interview Malky and then agree terms. That takes time so at odds with a quick placement. Thirdly, McInnes seems to be being pushed in the article - didn't he recently turn down another post? Pure speculation on my part but it is as plausible a theory as everything else. (Granted it would contradict by above point). Fourthly, they have lost 13 players since last season. We have lost two. Are they that attractive a proposition? I don't think so necessarily. The job would require building a squad. Here Malky has a squad in development but it would be leaving an unfinished job for one which involves starting from scratch. (And having to uproot to do it). We just need to wait and see.
McInnes said no to Brentford but if Malky went I do think if Bassini's word about money being freed up to spend is upheld the job might be more attractive to people out of work ready for a test that it might have been a few months ago. Only worry is that we lose MORE players but we can try and get Cardiff to pay over the odds for Malky and if he really wants them Cowie/Eustace although I'd rather they stayed. I don't think we'd go and "poach" a manager though. IF any deal is done behind our backs then maybe we'd be better off anyway..afterall if a player tried to get a move without official permission we'd be pretty hacked off with them and talk about how unloyal they were. Lets be honest through all this MM hasn't come out and said anything (either way I accept)
fingers crossed its not MM Who wants to bet bassini puts himself as the boss if he does go? easy to bypass the manager that way...
The Cardiff fans seem pretty certain it'll happen. Since Bassini has stated he will not welcome any approach for MM I don't know how everyone (except us) are suddenly so convinced. There's a big chance it'll still happen, but I won't be crying with dismay until the club confirms there has been an approach. Isn't Malky still on holiday?
I thought he was on holiday until tomorrow or tuesday The thing I'm dreading is that who can possibly replace him and do as well as he did last season? we love him, the players love him- I can see him taking our better players with him- sordell, cowie, taylor and eusty?
Cardiff are in a no better financial position than ourselves and as mentioned above, have shipped out loads of players - with owners in the far-east pulling the strings, does this make them a very attractive move? I would not see any advantage from a personal or career move and would wait...
If he did leave, I would be most worried about him taking staff and players with him, leaving us in a worse condition than what we were. The last three managers haven't been big names - we've taken people with little media coverage and through their time here they've become much more well known. I'd like to see us do that again, maybe promote from within - is Dyche ready for management, or would he even follow Malky to Cardiff? Still, as I said I'm not too concerned right now. Not until Cardiff or Baz speaks more about it. I am slightly anxious though, about what will come next
Le's wait till it's done and dusted....Reading paper today MM is after Darius Henderson, he also wants weimmann back on loan. This could all be rubbish too. I said when Norwich and Burnley were after him he could do better, I still stand by that. If he stays here and keeps up the good work a mid premiership team will come in for him, from there who knows....Scotland
