http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/engla...erbatov-and-pogba-would-do-very-well-in-italy Our young Italian striker on loan at QPR has been quoted in the Italian media as suggesting some of our players could do well in Italy. He said of Berbatov: I have no problem with this since we all know Berbatov will leave sooner rather than later a fact SAF has alluded to. But why did he have to open his mouth further and talk about Pogba? Granted he hasn't said a great deal and we all know Pogba would probably do well in most leagues; however the mind boggles why some footballers feel the need to run their mouth off about topics that do not concern them. Yes the two players are friends more than likely and no doubt Macheda rates him highly, but why did he feel the need to talk about the one player at United that could leave that SAF desperately wants to stay and is fighting to keep hold of? How thick is Macheda?
Stupid of Macheda to talk about Pogba. Am sure the gaffer will have a word with Macheda if he has heard what he has said.
oh dear, looks like Kiko Macheda will be getting the hairdryer treatment when he comes to the club unless he's comments have been taking out of context.
Yeah and to a certain degree I'm sure the interview was edited in such a way to show him in a bad light and of course its a loaded question. However he knows rightly how talking about Pogba could look especially when he had just mentioned Juventus to an Italian paper and who of course is the one team in Italy being linked heavily with Pogba? Juventus of course. Macheda you prat!
Erm, he was probably asked about Pogba? Given the rumours about Pogba and Juve, it's very conceivable that the Italian press asked him "Do you think Pogba would do well in Italy?" All he's done is answer the question. Just the media making mountains out of molehills again. If he'd refused to answer the question they would probably have made out it was some conspiracy and he was banned from talking about it as Pogba was already on the move or some ****...
That's my point Swarbs. I doubt even he was not that stupid to offer his opinion on Pogba before being asked. He was asked the question yet despite him earlier discussing Juve, he still talks about Pogba moving to Italy and doing well knowing full well which club in Italy is looking to sign him and also knowing full well what SAF feelings are on Pobga.
QPR confirm Kiko Macheda has returned to United for treatment on an ankle injury which looks set to end his season
I disagree mate - it's not like he's said "I expect Pogba to do well in Italy", he's said Pogba could do well in Italy. Implying it's all hypothetical. Same as Beckham saying Scholes could do great at Madrid - it's more a complement on the player's ability rather than actually implying they are going to move.
I don't understand Machida, if I played for Manchester United I would find it extremely hard to disrespect the club. Regardless if sent on loan as anything said like disrespect always gets out in the open.
You're right about it being a complement but given the rumours about an Italian move and Juve in particular I think he was pretty stupid to answer the question.
I hate vulture journalists. Obviously with Berbatov out of the picture, Will Keane and Macheda will get more action. Italy likes old players, why is Pogba even fooling himself things will work out there? And Italy has more openly racist fans.
I don't think Macheda has a future at United, but I don't think he's done any more than answer a question. I certainly don't see it as disrespecting United. He's not encouraging Pogba to move to Italy or saying he should, he's just saying he could do well there hypothetically. If he'd not answered the question then you can guarantee that there would stil be a story about it.
Yeah he did answer the question and on the surface it appears reasonably innocent, however given the subject matter i.e. Pogba and the context i.e. Italy and Juve, you wonder why he didn't think before speaking. Then again communication isn't his best point. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17178936 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17246934
True, but then how much do you reckon Macheda actually knows or understands about the subject? I doubt most footballers are smart enough to consider how their comments to the media might be interpreted. Keano's "prawn sandwiches", Drogba's "sometimes I dive" and Rooney's "once a blue" are all examples of similar comments made by players that were stupid, and could be seen as disrespectful. Thinking without speaking seems to be a hallmark of the modern footballer.
