He was getting absolutely slaughtered on Twitter during the game last night. "Barely league two standard" " "utterly useless" "losing the ball for the 1093204834th time", many more.

And let's be honest, he never 'plays well.' He pops up in the box and sometimes finishes, sometimes doesn't. He has no ability to hold it up, pass, turn, link, do anything.

Now the larger question, is he so good at popping up in the box and finishing that it offsets his ability to contribute anything to the attacking phase?

Well when you've gone 8 games without a goal, and goals are your only contribution, that means you've gone 8 games and contributed precisely nothing.

You can see why the question of whether to sell him was, as TS reports it, just a 30-second conversation.

I have no problems with Bonne.

I did not agree with signing a geezer from division 5 football but he did well last season. It remains to be seen if last season was a 'one off' BUT to play in division 2 is a big step up. Of course he's going to take the money and run.

    Good luck to him.

So, no sell-on fee expected in the pipeline?

Macaulay Bonne was a punt looking to the future . it was stated quite a lot. When our injuries kicked in last season, he stepped up with eleven goals, despite not being anywhere near a finished product, though he also missed a string of sitters. We then sold him for 2m despite hi looking completely off the pace in league 1.

Personally I wish him all the best, he did his best for us, and at least he was there at the end last season unlike the guy who went to big school. The rumour is that Bowyer was glad to be shot of him, but I don't see we have any reason to complain,

I must admit when Bonne was sold without an “adequate “ replacement lined up I was a bit miffed about it , I thought he would be good in league1 after his goal tally in the championship, but if Sir Bowyer wanted shot of him then I trust his judgment. QPR fans really not appy with him

Bonne’s limitations will be exposed against Championship defenders. As @dick plumb says, the QPR fans have been quick to rumble him. He will make a nice few quid out of that contract, which is paying more than his talent deserves. His departing comments about having his head turned didn’t sit well with me.

His missing of sitters was crucial to our relegation. He may have been bought as a work in progress, but he seemed to go backwards. Scored some decent goals in the early days though.

Are we actually getting £2 million for him? Or is it based upon QPR getting promoted?

I thought Bonne did well to step up despite being far from the finished article.

I think in time he could become a good Championship striker, but he needs time at a slightly lower level to get up to speed.

I assumed his comments opened a window to his performances before he left. We were a sinking ship.

But wouldn’t you play your best to get the best possible move?

Perhaps it was already in the bag.

It'll definitely be in installments, all transfers are now, still a decent fee though.

When he joined Orient fans mentioned that he scores 1 in 5 good chances, I think he reduced that a bit during his time with us but like you say is far from the finished article. Personally I think he's a better player than Washington though.

I would have said the same, Bonne>Washington, but after Bonnes last few games for Charlton (apart from that lovely finish in pre-season), I would say Bonne=Washington.

How many points did we drop by conceding goals in injury time?
