Well its just what we need to hopefully kick start a season that stalled three months ago, in that time the Chairboys have not won at Adams Park or kept a clean sheet and sit just two points above the drop zone so there couldn't be a better time to end that run than against our local rivals just up the M40, who are on a run themselves having not lost away from home in the league all season, a run that must be ended. With Billy Knott having returned to the Black Cats and as of writing this no new signings, a traditional 4-4-2 line up is expected and hopefully Deano wins his race against time to be ready to face his old employers. A big crowd is expected at Adams Park and I will be amongst it let us all get behind the lads and finally end this run. COYB
last home game for a few months for me, so desperately hoping for a win here! we deserved to beat oxford in august, and would have done had it not have been for 7 minutes stoppage time and a push somehow missed by mr d'urso it will either be a 4-4-2 or the 4-1-3-2 formation again, eiher of which will work. for me though gaz has to play deano if he can, dean is always up for games against his old clubs who hate him, and oxford really hate him! id also have stewert return into the defence for Johnson just to give a bit more pace at the back. have a strange feeling we could sneak a win here, COYB!
Just checked in. 0-0, I thought "that's good". Then I saw the red card, for fighting FFS. Looks like 3 goals in the last 20 mins then. Craig should be disciplined within for letting the side down.
From this end at least we are above Pompey that game on the 28th is turning into a big game also last game of the season is away at Torquay
Really good performance today crowd got behind the team from the off and every player put in a shift apart from Craig I couldn't see what the sending off was for all I can say is several of their players were doing a lot of diving and for the first 30 mins the ref bought it then I think he got wise to it we were in the game throughout and could have taken the lead as we had good spells in the second half if we play like that for the rest of the season we will be OK
agree with everything here, craigs red card was baffling! one thing that seems to have escaped the attention was oxfords goal and the fact it came just after josh scowen had been taken off (admittedly it looked like he was injured). the goal was a result of the ball dropping into an area just infront of the back 4/outside the penalty area, where josh had been all game to pick up the ball and make a challenge. to me that was possibly the only reason we didn't collect a deserved point today speaking to some oxford fans on the train after, they seemed adamant it was a red card which I find strange, ill have a look at the replay but oxfords players were a disgrace to football today. I suspect we will play them next season - I cant see us being relegated or them gaining promotion
Have just watched the football league show it looked like an elbow for the sending off, they had six booked they will lucky to field a team if they keep that up
having seen it again myself I still think the red card is soft - however I doubt we would get it on appeal and craig knew their team would go down like Olympic divers at the slightest touch so perhaps he should have been more aware interestingly, oxford have won something like 5 away games this season where the opposition have been reduced to 10 men - I wonder what their tactics are I personally don't see relegation as an issue at the moment, but the next 3 games are massive. Mansfield, Portsmouth and bury, 2 of which are away, could be the make or break period in our season
