PL is bound to play a weakened team for tonight's game which us understandable as we are down to the bare bones. But who really gives a toss?

What the hell is going on with this side? Bizarre selection but good to see Huws and Edwards getting a run out.

We must have some academy talent to put out in a game like this?

    Whatever happened to Ben Morris?

    Already 2-0 down.

We can shrug our shoulders at this tie as much as we like, but what a contrast between our club and theirs. Luton, not a big name club in this country at all, have implemented an attractive and entertaining ideology of football on the pitch. Supported by an ambitious owner and a forward-thinking, innovative coaching team, they are truly in the ascendency. Compare that to our declining, tires, and wasteful football club and I truly despair. A club with a torrid owner who has only just begrudgingly paid to give the stadium a bit of a wash and a paint job. A club with no discernible style of football. A club still seemingly stuck in the 1990s.

    Embarrassing, if you ask me.

What is pointless is making so many changes and then expect to be competitive.
This feels like just another cup game not taken seriously. I find it difficult to believe that players are tired after 2 bloody matches!

It makes you feel sick for the loyal fans who travel to watch this debacle.

Let's be honest and say that we haven't got the squad numbers to take these cup competitions seriously! One or two more injuries tonight to first teamers and we would be royally fooked!!

Apparently 22% possession in that first half, according to our local journo at the ground - and this is a midfield containing Judge, Huws, and Dozzell.

Evidently avoiding injuries should be a priority, but we should not be treating cup competitions as a pre-season friendly. We should be have a squad capable of playing three games a week. This Luton team is also fielding a second string side and they were playing at our level last season. They’re coasting this game. This is not good enough.

Another cup exit after one match. I stupidly thought it was going to be different this year but no. Mick prioritized league survival and Paul promotion. How about we just prioritize winning bloody games!

It must be fun being a Luton fan-waltzing through the divisions playing attacking, possession based football...theyve come back from the brink of the conference. I hope we dont have to sink that low to be galvanised into momentum. but ive seen it so many times before, from Norwich (twice) that building a team with a wider pyramid of a well run club underneath which starts to roll and roll is effective and not all that expensive. its not easy, but it feels like we are a million miles away from Luton (weakened team aside) and thats quite depressing. Im 39 and i can't ever recall Luton being better than us in my lifetime.

The last thing we needed was more injuries so I understand the changes that were made including 3 debuts, I normally would say play our strongest team but the league is vital to us this season so disappointed to lose but couldn't honestly give a toss about the League Cup.

We're about the same age... they were a decent side mid-late eighties when Town were declining and dropping into the Second Division.

yes, the pragmatic view is to give an away game at a vastly superior team a wide berth given our squad depth and the imperative of the league. it just made for a depressing night for the club to see the gulf between us. great to see a homegrown ayer score though.
