Up to recently we had the various snippets from the lust guys to keep us kind of updated on the takeover. However, they have gone suspiciously quiet, suggesting a couple of possible outcomes. Either the thing is almost done or they're are completely cheesed off at Bates not signing off on it. I'll be interested to see what they're approach will be if Bates continues to dig in his heels. Will the fans be asked to exert extra pressure on him by witholding financial support or will we be expected to just sit on the fence and wait for the next investor to roll into town. Can't help feeling the fans have been treated disgracefully by both parties involved, almost as if we don't matter.

    Clearly we don't Eire.

This whole matter has been weird since the start.

Its inexplicable that we have not received general updates every 2 - 3 weeks. In other words, a vague description of what the current status is - FL/FA doing its "fit and proper procedures," etc.

Unfortunately, with his track record, the chairman simply cannot be trusted with anything, so suspicion naturally raises its head amongst many of us. There are a number of conspiracy theories that come to mind without even thinking about it.

Perhaps they realised that making stuff up just to hear the sound of their own voices was not the best plan after all.or perhaps bBoth sides in the take over were playing LUST like a fiddle. Either way they proved to be very niave when they swwallowed every bit of tthe anti bates side of the argument.

Friday of this week is D day IMO.

Could be tomorrow when we get some sort of news. End of Ramadan today.

Apparently the blokes seen with Bates at the match Saturday, were from FGH Capital a Bahrain bank who are thought to be the lead bank in the takeover. The English guy is the boss and supposed to be a Leeds fan, and the raghead is the guy who represents the royal family.

Bates looks a bit glum though

When they were noisy nothing materialised, when they said the deal was off Bates said it was still on, it seems like Bates enjoys toying with them which to me shows that Bates see's them as a thorn in his side.

I would imagine they have decided to stay quiet after the flak they received from many supporters. Damned if they do and damned if they don't...

Admitted they have handled a few things quite badly (as far as I am concerned) but it is a learning curve for everyone.

Dublin, I don't know why Ramadan would be significant unless there is a prohibition against doing business for that whole month - unlikely.

I refereed a game last week and it was really hot. I was encouraging my Assistant Referees to drink at halftime and could not understand why one was not drinking. After much nagging on my part, he eventually said he was observing Ramadan. I was gobsmacked!

Doc - raghead? No need for such terminology.

LUST should keep quiet. They are learning, which makes me happier to back them.

The impression I'm getting is that Bates needs to sell, because his business plan has backfired especially regarding his development stuff. Too much spent on it, having to borrow cash against future season ticket sales and of course all his legal problems. He will also have spent a huge wedge on this takeover deal as well. He's obviously playing hard ball, but his options are limited and if he messes about for too long and ends up taking us into administration again, these or other potential investors will pick the club up cheap in a re-pack deal.

Hurry up Bates and put pen to paper

Well this group are certainly not the ones who originally showed an interest unless LUST and everyone else were wrong or unless they have a connection with the original interested party?

Assuming they are NOT the original party I would assume we are a long way off a conclusion and my guess would be that they might well be more interested in a cash investment??

I keep saying I give up and will wait and see and I keep getting drawn into new rumours lol

JonnyLA - I don't know anything about it really, just heard that when ramadan is taking place a lot of business takes a back seat until it's over. I could be talking complete ****ee but it's just what I heard.

I hear you. We are all just desperate for something we can rely on. This uncertainty really stinks.

Yes they are, and I don't quite know where you're drawing those conclusions from.

Well originally it was Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khlaifa who was heading a T/O bid - The people spotted at the ground were Salem Patel and David Haigh, senior figures at Dubai-based investment company GFH Capital Limited.

Like I said UNLESS they have a connection with Al-Khlaifa? What makes you sure they are the one of the same group Simon?

No-one ever said it was Al-Khalifa heading the bid, certainly not LUST, the IAA of Bahrain stated that he was advising the bidders. Also GFH are only fronting the bid, they aren't the actual buyers.

It's worth noting that LUST have been saying they are in contact with an intermediary for the deal, and David Haigh is a Leeds fan, so he is probably who LUST are getting their information from.

couple of interesting posts from BIG posted a few days ago on another site

i havent gone anywhere lads i am just concious of the fact the weekends events have left more questions than answers and we are still stuck with this utterly frustrating dignified silence which is in eveyones best interest for the time being. i am pissed off with it too believe me.

all i can tell you is what you already know, the hold up is soley down to bates and i dont know how much longer this will take? sorry.

    QUOTE (billyisgod @ Aug 19 2012, 08:08 PM)
it doesnt matter what Mr Bates or his supporters tell you Leeds United cannot survive another season without either investment or a take over so logically it has to happen and dont believe a word of his propaganda about fans and protests scaring off investors, its utter crap, his business plan wont keep us cash fluid enough to survive (not my opinion the opinion of those experts we consulted and brought in to work on the 2010/11 accounts which where so glaringly flawed as per our previous statements).

all of that versus his ego and massive sense of self protection, who knows

Boozie's been saying the hold-up is one single legal matter that lawyers from all sides have advised Bates to agree to, but of course the old fool is holding up for whatever reason.

Bucks or Jerel (sorry can't remember which one) posted on here a few weeks back stating that BIG has confirmed that Al-Khalifa was heading the bid...

There is clearly a game of chess taking place behind the scenes... The problem is that no one knows which pieces are included in the game :undecided:
