Is Luke Young injured? If not why isn't he playing? Can't be any worse than some of our current back 4. Even Fitz Hall MIGHT be better.

not in the squad, has no future under Hughes for whatever reason.

Where have you been? He's not in the 25, can't play, and apparently injured so not on loan.

Because Hughes froze him out. As myself and Oddball said during the Summer, it was a big mistake. That along with letting go of the Iceman.

The chickens have come home to roost for this muppet of a Manager we have.

I have no idea why MH didn't give him the light of day. He was a decent, versatile player and we could have done with him during our last injury crisis.

Totally forgot about the 25, SB. Do we have the choice of swapping in the January transfer window?

I thought Luke Young played exceptionally well during the majority of last season.

It's embarrassing how much better he is than Boswinga and Onouha yet not even in the 25. Even the staunchest Sparky supporter will have to admit that was a mistake. And I'm one of them!

Yes, you can name a new 25 in January but Young never had the chance to fight his way into the squad based on performance. Sparky just didn't want him, full stop.

This and HH is possibly his greatest of his many grave mistakes.

He'd fit right in our defence now then, wouldn't he! ;)

Cant agree young is awful. He was at fault a few times last year, but before that he was proving to be one of the better signings made that summer.

Better than Onouha and Ferdinand imo.

Rather unfair - last year he had a reasonable first half of the season before he got injured (was likely carrying it for several games) and even got us a few good goals, which none of our current crop of forwards seem to be able to do these days.

I love the way history gets rewritten: "reasonable first half to the season" - fair enough. "A few good goals" - 2 to be precise, but they were good. "Carrying an injury" - he kicked the ground taking a free kick at home v Wolves, went off immediately, reappeared v Sunderland away and was dire ( along with the rest of them), that was the last we saw of him, I think.

Someone did the stats and an alarming number of goals were his fault, he just stands off his man and lets then do what they want.

I liked him personally. thought he had a good footballing brain.
Someone did some stats saying he was at fault for a lot of goals..but..stats also tell us we cant win with Granero / Tarbs / ceasar etc in our team this year...
    absolute sh**te!

Only idiots back up stats with regards to football...

MHgoty this one wrong i think. Not gonna save us but as good as what we currently have, and unless thiere is some plan for the future...i reckon he shouls have been given a chance....as per Tarbs...!

End this thread...it is not an option. For two reasons
    He is injured
He is not in the squad

And perhaps, may I suggest to all the gentlemen on the board....he was NOT in the squad, because he was LONGTERM injured....and so missed of the 25 as too risky, to incclude

We would be slagging Sparky off if he had included Young and say not Hill or Onuaha, and he had never been able to play due to an injury that need an op. believe it or not we would have been EVEN worst off

We do all this planning and slagging off without actually knowing the facts

Fair enough wife-eee, but in direct competition...we gave dyer a slot in the 25. If ever you were gonna bet on a player being injured...he'd be clear favourite....

Didnt know LY was injured, but sad to see him go !

Dyer had one fantastic game...but has now gone of the radar again

Do worry how people disappear (cue spooky, twilight zone music)

    Dyer, Park, Young.....
