wow, i just don't know!!, he was always my favorite player here but his career which at one time was looking like taking off faded fast, and his team appearances and goals have dried up since, taking his suit case and becoming a journey man hasn't help him, and do we need a hot head like him in the changing room,or perhaps will he get everybody fired up....not many players return with the same motivation as they left, but my heart says yes, but my head says no...like KDS perhaps i would prefer Lowe...
Think last time I saw Ryan Lowe play for the Town he came on as a sub v Carlisle in the game we had to win to stay in the League. What did our cool calm, man for a crisis do? Yep walked on the pitch headbutted someone and was promptly sent off! If we are relying on him we really are doomed!
He has scored many more goals than Rodgers in recent seasons. Rodgers had that one really good season when we were relegated and you would have expected him to score a myriad of goals in the Conference and he did just OK. Next season, back in the league, he was a failure. He has also been quoted as saying that Ratcliffe was the best manager he played under. Enough said.
Was always very sad to see Rodgers go (could no-one manage him?) but he's probably too old and may no longer have an edge.....why would anybody let him go if he was even average? It was a sad time before we got our act together, let's hope that time is not returning. If purse strings are a problem, or we don't have a good scouting and youth policy, then perhaps we should consider being the perennial Div 2 team.....humble but happy!!!! Lowe seems a different proposition, he has gravitas but as reflected above maybe a bit schizoprenic......which one would we get? In our position is the risk too big?
Can the fans cope with a player who is said to not be match fit, who has played 9 games and scored twice?

http://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/article/9nov11-rodgers-returns-to-shrewsbury-477040.aspx He's back. Let's hope the adage never return to your old club doesn't apply here!
I think it's fair to say the last time we re-signed a former player it went pretty well, although there are plenty calling for his head on B&A.
