If it's being talked about, it's probably not true. The press often link teams with all their old players..like the Beattie rumour.

Doubt it now Barnard is back.

Plus Guly has been playing a blinder up front recently!

I believe he would be a good buy for us only 22 with still plenty of potential to improve as an all round centre forward. He's very strong in the air & can play with the ball on the deck. We definitely exploit Lambert's strengths, when we love to cross the ball into the box at every opportunity! He would be good cover for Lambert & cant see why they can't play up front together, learning of Lambert. Also with Coventry experiencing money problems we will most likely get him at a reseasonable price compared to most buys in the January window.

We have been really lucky so far with injuries. Either Lambert or Gully could be out at any time or have a drop in form. Maybe just to give certain players a rest after Xmas the games come even more thick and fast. I think he would be a better player to have on the subs bench than Barnard also it would improve the competition for places in the team. I'm not saying this would be true for him but if I had to go off and play for another team so be it but if your home team who you supported as a kid came knocking and offered you the chance to play for them at a decent level with a chance to play in the prem? You would give that extra 10% every game playing in front of your home fans is something we all dream of! :)

Don't believe a word of it. Another nonsense, red-top rag story plucked out of thin air.

In a nutshell; it's a load of bollocks.

One thing I read yesterday was that we are to sign a Prem striker on loan with view to a permanent move. (No names given)
Apparently it would come as a shock to all...!

Honestly can't remember where I read it though, didn't have time to post as was late for work!

Apologies, but I don't believe it anyway.

    1. Find player with possible link to Southampton.
    2. Write transfer rumour.
    3. Don't forget to include absolutely no sources for this story.
    4. Include long tedious paragraphs about which clubs he used to play for and the bit about how he used to live down here - long articles are more credible.
    5. Print.

The same Michael Owen who is out injured? As he always seems to be? People need to think before they post these stupid rumours!

Agree that cover for the xmas period would be useful to us and you're not going to get a superstar on an emergency loan. But Coventry would never release there leading goalscorer on loan no matter how bad money might be.

If we were to sign a striker in January I would like us to go for Marvin Emnes, think he has been one of the more impressive players we've seen at St. Marys for the oppo.

dont want macheda - big time charlie no thanks

as for Jutkiewicz I would rather not, I would prefer a proven striker at this level (Sharp) or a reserve prem striker who could do a job

either way, I dont think we need a striker now Barnard is back, Guly is improving up front, Connolly in reserve and obviosuly Doble & Hoskins should the worst come to the worst
