Luka Modric still 'waiting' on Chelsea transfer bid
Spurs midfielder Luka Modric has admitted he still does not know whether he will be joining Chelsea before the end of the transfer window.
The diminutive Croatian has been the subject of a number of bids from the Stamford Bridge side, however, they have been flatly rejected by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Manager Harry Redknapp has also stated that he is not looking to let his best player leave White Hart Lane.
Modric, who played for his national side against the Republic of Ireland during the week, told RTE Sport that he is unsure where his future lies.
'I don't want to talk about that, I said before what I think and that's it. I said a lot of things before and still everything is the same at the moment. I will see - I'm still waiting,' he added.

We are yet to make our third bid, I heard we were going to make one monday just gone but we didn't. I still don't understand how we were prepared to buy Pastore for £43m or w/e the price was, yet we are offering very little for one of if not the best CM in the league. Either way, Lukaku as our only big money signing is NOT enough.

 

You seriously want to keep a player who does not want to play for you? Even with Modric you're going to struggle for a Champions League place, so cash in and replace him.

Xavi got something like 3 assists last season, and he's the best midfielder on earth. Modric is not the 'assisting' kind of player, he's the heartbeat of tottenham. The assists go to someone like VDV/Lennon or Bale.
