Sadly, cheating is engrained in our game to the extent that no player will admit what television cameras will always show. The fact it was Suarez is irrelevant as he is no different to any other player in that context. Managers are adept at bullsh*tting and Rodgers is no different. What is more worrying is that Mansfield gave Liverpool a far tougher game than we did the previous Sunday...
Yorkie, your right of course but I'm afraid the game has moved on in the last 20 years. Yes we should all be honest, never dive etc but the simple fact is that Saurez's stats have increased by 1 goal this season & the financial bonus for liverpool to [prgress is (too) massive! Money & Sky have totally changed the game and whilst i fully agree with your arguement, I for one, will not be complaining if Cisse handball it over the line in the last game to keep us in the Prem for another year. Will you?
This is what we should be concerned about and debating. A frankly, lucky win against an out of form Chelsea shouldn't detract from the fact that we are generally appalling at the moment.
Didn't say you did Col. And Queens, you are probably right that I wouldn't complain if it went our way in the last minute of the season. though i would like to know why the adage that it all balances out at the end of the season seems to mean in our case that we get 37 games of decisions going against us and 1 at the end where it might go our way. The point is a serious one though. The game has not moved on in the last 20 years. It has become corrupt. The funniest thing though is the closet anti-racists coming out. "We would never complain if it was a british player." "Do we want to drive every last bit of foreign talent out of the game?" Kampala. Hi there. Were you manning the barricades or something when we rose as one to condemn Joey Barton, Gareth Bale , Ashley Young for blatant cheating and/or thuggery. Tell me what the common denominator is before you play the race card again. Being pc means being able to condemn what is wrong in people of every race or skin colour.
You see I thought that as well, was there more than one incident like this? I had a clear image in my mind of him taking a penalty in the goal to the left (if watching on TV the one on the left from the main camera position) and passing the ball to his left (keeper's right) for the "save" and play carried on with the ball in the keeper's hands. When I went looking for the video a few months ago the only one I could find was a similar incident where in the same goal he played it to the right (keeper's left) and some other Liverpool player went and knocked in the rebound. Neither my memory nor the video had the keeper getting sent off though, so is that yet another example?
It was quite obviously hand to ball and Suarez had to take advantage of that. Perfectly good goal and the officials got it spot on.
