Why would the media want to talk about wee clubs like Liverpool, when they can talk about the worlds biggest club?

He might get less attention if he kept his gob shut. For a guy who claims not to love the media spotlight, he sure does plenty of things to keep himself in it!
The whole "Man Utd control the media" thing does look like he's building an excuse so he can leave at the end of the season without Liverpool fans hating him. If he turned around and said he was going to play in Spain or Italy cos the media pressure was too much for him here, half the scousers would probably blame Utd for him wanting to join a better team.
