Personally I dont agree. I think we would have signed those players even if Suarez got a giant Liverpool tattooed across his chest.
Possibly. I dont think Aspas and Luis Alberto are connected to a Suarez exit though. If Suarez goes I imagine we will move for some one lie Lamela or Michu.
I think mkhitaryan will not arrive until suarez goes... i find it unbelievable that either a player wants to come and we want the guy OR we are not bidding on the guy... Its fishy to me. Oh and net spend now stands at..... 1mil? 0mil?
I disagree - we have been scouting Henri for a while and we've been in negotiations since for the past month. That alone would suggest that HM is going to sign regardless of Suarez leaving. I just hope Suarez stays because I feel we could have a seriously strong team if HM joins.
It wouldn't surprise me if both deals happened in the same week but I don't think either depend on the other.
Well thats not going to happen now, the Armenian ****er is off to Dortmund. So where does that leave us now? The signings so far have come out of the sales (Carroll mainly), that means the HM money would have been coming from the actual summer transfer budget (roughly 20-25mil?). If Suarez goes you'd hope it would be for 40mil+. So presumably that would mean we would have roughly 60-70mil to buy a Suarez replacement and the players we need for other areas. Looks like BR wants another ACM and I would hope for at least another, better, CB and maybe even a CM. Personally I don't want Suarez to leave, he the only real worldclass player we have left, he makes a big difference to the team and it would be extremely hard to get another player of the same quality. But It would be alot of money to really strengthen the squad.
I knew Dortmund were interested but as far as I was aware they haven't even put a bid in yet. Have I missed something?
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/218678-meh-Mkhitaryan-is-****-anyway German media reporting that he's on his way to BVB
So will we sign Erikson now? How must Erikson feel. He agrees to join to clubs but both of them decide they want Mkhitaryan instead.
We'll just drive ourselves mad trying to guess what's happening so it's really just a case of wait and see-frustrating though that is. Jan Molby's a top bloke, but I see no reason to give any more credence to his opinion than many of the others flying around. I agree with the OP that our signings so far don't mean Suarez is definitely on the way out, but I'm more or less resigned to the fact now. As for Mkhy, just because we don't know what's happening doesn't mean nothing is.
Not certain, but I suspect we'd use the sale money to buy two players rather than one to replace Suarez given the absense of similar quality players at that price who'd also come to us. Mkhitaryan was the first but has now joined Dortmund instead. Aspas was going to sign regardless of other activity. Alberto is almost a direct replacement for Shelvey. They're adding to the squad depth which we lacked last season. Suarez staying or leaving has no baring on that.
