[They're the photos every Liverpool fan has been waiting for - Luis Suarez back in training at Melwood ahead of our season opener against Sunderland at the weekend. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/photos-look-who-s-back
Those cleats are God awful, can't stand them..... but if you are going to wear them, it is a good thing you are good Senior Suarez.
I reckon he should start on Saturday...he's on fire at the moment (not in a rioting sense hopefully) has had a couple of weeks off, a week back with the squad so there really shouldn't be any issues with him in fact he's probably more match fit than the rest of the team Plus I think he'll eat Wes Brown for brekky
Surely Suarez should be at a mid-season type level of fitness? He's had regular breaks since (and including) his ban so i think there's a decent chance he will be on the bench. Expect him to start against Arsenal perhaps, as that gives him an extra week to settle in and get to know the new boys. Having him on the bench against Sunderland would give the crowd a little lift (not that we'll need it), give a bit more security in case we need to change things, and will just emphasize just how damn healthy our squad is compared to the start of the season!
Agreed. The only problem is that being in a mid-season level of fitness you run the risk of early burnout or injuries. He needs a rest as we have a long season ahead
No I disagree 100% he should defo start on Saturday......and that's not because he's in me fantasy team
I don't think he will start against Sunderland. I also reckon it wouldn't be wise to risk him, we have enough in our locker to see off Sunderland without him too even more so if Wes Brown plays. As for burn-out, I don't think we have to worry about that whatsoever, he's the type, similar to Dirk Kuyt and Jordan Henderson that doesn't burn out. He's what Alan Nixon yesterday called a ''slow burner''. He's got the same stamina levels as Dirk Kuyt but is also blessed with unbelievable skill. I would be more worried about him picking up an injury than burning out. I reckon it would be best to let him have another week of intense training, and then unleash him on Arsenal. I reckon we could benefit from it. He'll be chomping at the bit and will be even more determined to embarrass and take the piss out of them.
