Probably my 3 biggest memories of him were the goal against Juventus at Anfield. The Volley against Chelsea in the FA Cup and of course the legendary ghost goal against Chelsea.

I noticed on Twitter he was recently going to Barca games and Athletico Madrid games and thought that was odd as the Mexican league ( and his former team PUMAS) were still in season. Will always remember him, gave me some of the best memories I have personally ever had as red supporter and memories I will pass down to my kids and beyond. <ok>

Some great moments from him, but his inconsistency really frustrated me, I'm afraid.

I wish him well, though. The "ghost goal" will wind Chavs up for many years to come.

He was great in Europe but as you say frustrated in the league. I'm sure he'll enjoy his retirement.

Loved the guy. That goal v Juve, what a strike.

Felt we missed someone like him the last few years, that player that can irritate the **** out of you 75% of the time, but then come up with those moments of genius and spark into life. That's when you remember why you love him.
