I forget who it was who said we had been lucky when we were looking like we were going to run away with the league a couple of weeks back.Well I think that luck has been reeled in over the last 180 minutes. We could have scored four or five in each game,On the other hand the chasing pack have all slipped up...luck?

I have posted this a couple of times and I also still think our league position flatters us. It bothers me that even against weaker teams we cannot keep a clean sheet and that a lot of our positive results have arisen from a stroke of good fortune in front of goal.

That said these things come and go and I still think we have more than enough quality to go straight back up.

It doesn't help when the ref gives them a penalty and denies us one for an identical situation!

As long as we keep making chances and have 60% plus possession then I am happy with our progress.. I think a striker on loan would be a good addition as Hooper is still not anywhere near match fit.
The amount of chances missed is a concern .

Luck evens out over a season.

Quality consistant players and team spirit will be the difference between promotion & not.

It was me who said it, and I guess I feel luck has more or less evened out now, as it tends to do. We're still top - at least until the Forest game - but there's a lot of work to be done. Forget 100 points and 100 goals.

Luck plays a big part but at least a City have won 'key' games against Watford, Blackburn, Ipswich and Cardiff. Slipping up against the 'winnable' games is something all teams will do. Good wins at Brentford and Blackpool show what City are capable of up front, at least they've created numerous chances in the last two homes.

vc - Well said and I've nothing to add. IMO, I'm pleased to see the '100 points and 100 goals' is now confined to history!!!!

I think every fan, especially in this division, can talk about varying degrees of luck! Still top, would never have thought that after the last two home results.

Amazing set of results,Middlesboro now5th and Brentford 10th were the nearest challengers to get a win.Along with Bournemouth they were the only teams in the top 16 to get three points.

Maybe it's going to be one of those seasons where the champions will only get around 84 points. I can't see a Reading scenario when they ran away with nearly 100 goals and over 100 points!

It feels like a defeat after conceding the equaliser in the very last knockings but we out played Forest for large parts of the game and I'm delighted with the run we are on! A two week break to put a few things right on the training ground and we go again. We are only 2 points off top and everything to play for.

Still very early days in regards to the table. <ok>

January will give us a true indication as to where we all stand with our prospects for promotion.

Forest were very ordinary and we should have won but that's football.

Have to agree warky. Interesting to read what you say re Forest and I'm hoping to go up there on 8th Nov!!!!

We should have been 'out of sight' by half time - Jerome had 2 headers, one just missed to the left and a few minutes later, one just missed to the right.

You should beat them they aren't all that!

They spent most of the game trying to con the referee by flinging themselves to the ground in our box! Assombalonga was the chief culprit!
