Theres a lot of gossip going around that we're interested in Marseille playmaker Lucho, who has repeatedly admitted he'd like to move, ever since he got robbed a few months back. Would he be another good stop-gap signing, if the Goetze deal falls through, or should we move for Sochaux man Marvin Martin instead?
Why? He's like Arteta, ageing, best years behind him, but can still play, and would be a good fit in our system.
Arteta was proven in this league and is a player that plays more deep in midfield. Lucho is decent but not someone that I think we should be in for. We wanted him on loan I think in the summer and a player like Yossi is the player Wenger went for in the end in that type of deal.
Matio Goetze is the man we should attempt to get but if that does not happen then the likes of Marvin Martin,Granero or Parejo will be fine.
They are younger so giving them time will benfit us in the long term. Buying Lucho is just a short fix when we could get players that can play for longer.
Lucho is a leader, something we lack (aside from the Verminator). These kids wouldn't know leadership if it ate their arms.
