He looked like he did before his injuries...immense. A big bonus for us if he can maintain that level.
I thought Jonjo's tackle was great but it was too late in the game. Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned kick to their best player I agree though, the players deserve credit for last nights effort. Whether we performed technically or not, we have been moaning most of the season about a lack of fighting spirit, a lack of heart and desire, where was the passion? Well, last night we saw all that IMO
Best thing about Lucas for me, is that he wins the ball then looks up...then looks up again...and keeps looking up right until there's absolutely no chance of making a forward pass, in which case it goes safely sidewards or back. He's always looking for forward passes unlike alot of our players and indeed, unlike most defensive mids in the league. Defensively solid and positive in passing. Really like him when he's on form. Top player.
I hate to say it but like Suarez and a few others Lucas deserves better than to be mid table and not playing in Europe. Sad but true.
