Come on guys show your love, our votes count and lets be fair most of us owe him for calling him crap for 3 years.
I just did too. And I think it was only me and saintanton who never, EVER called him crap. The rest of you should be ashamed... GKRK.
I just voted for the lad(he deserves to win it),Rafa told us 3 years ago how good Lucas was. Quote: "People just don't know how good Lucas is. He is a fantastic player, he was captain of his club side at 19 and has already won full caps with Brazil. Not just any country, but Brazil. He has captained their under-21s and their Olympic team.'' Rafa Benitez, December 2008. Lucas has shown Liverpool FC total commitment throughout the adversity he went through and proving to us just how good he is. A Liverpool legend in the making.
The word MOST is in my quote, I unfortunately was one who did get a bit frustrated with him. Keep the votes coming, imagine how good he would feel to get this award.
Lucas spent too much time being derided for not being Alonso, and then for not being Mascherano - that was mostly down to media perceptions and consistent inappropriate comparisons. I always saw the lad as more of a ball playing replacement for Mascherano, rather than Alonso, and he's borne that comparison out, to the extent that I think no-one who supports Liverpool would ever want Mascherano back (Alonso is a whole different kettle of fish)
I'm just glad he can pass now and doesn't lose posession 20 yards in into the opposition's half. His defensive side was always good. Voted No.1, this past year no doubt
