In the current copa America tournament Lucas was sent off along with Antolin Akaraz. Do you think Lucas is a dirty player.? I want your candid opinion. Please rate as follow. 1.Lucas is a dirty player vote five stars.***** 2.Lucas is tough but not dirty vote four stars.**** 3.Lucas is not different from other players.Vote three satrs.***. New season is going to start soon and we need our players to be of good behaviour on the pitch. Being sent off is not a good thing, and being booked frequently is also not good.
Lucas is far from dirty but... Part of the tactics for the position he plays is fouling in the correct part of the pitch. He used to foul near the 18yd box he's improved that part of his game and fouls much further away therefore preventing direct free kicks. I'm not joking I really believe selective fouling is part of the DM position.
Here's a thought lets only buy players that have less than 10 fouls per season!!! I bet comolli will be all over those stats. Come On!!!! some of our best midfield players of the recent past have been much worse!!! Mascherano, sissokho, Hamman etc.
Lucas is not a particularly dirty player , but at the same time i don't think he's afraid to give someone a sly trip or foul if it prevents a goal scoring chance. But as most of you have said the same can be said of nearly all DM's, Didi Hamman was the king at these sort of fouls, he even managed to avoid getting sent off often.
Absolutely nothing; he was getting frustrated with the sloppiness so he rushed in there to try and get it, then missed. God knows why they decided to jump on, just unnecessary by Paraguay...
Sad to see Brazil going out,Suarez still have a chance of winning the tournament.Good thing is that Lucas is coming back to Anfield injury free
Ok I saw this on SSN first thing in the morning and to me it didn't look like Lucas did anything, Seemed unfair to me but I was barely awake...
Last season Liverpool had one player in the top 20 for PL red cards: Joe Cole. There was also Gerrard's against Utd in the cup. We had nobody in the top 20 for yellow cards. Indiscipline is a bad thing. We don't appear to have it.
I'm not worried about Lucas getting red carded...he shouldn't have been sent off in my opinion...anyway he's shown some class over the past season and a half and I admit 2 seasons ago I hated him and wanted him out of the club but credit to the lad he has stepped up after the departures of Alonso and Mascherano and he has bossed the midfield in most games. The things that have impressed me is that he's cut out mistakes from his game, don't get me wrong he's far from perfect but he used to make so many bad decisions but now not so much. Also his passing has improved he keeps it simple. I think last season he was our best player without a doubt. (Kuyt a close second, didnt really count Suarez as he only had a half season).
If you put it into context, its international and its south america, they've always kicked lumps out of each other ever since I remember, a prem player would last 45 minutes in the colombian or brazillian league though it has simmered down somewhat in th epast 10 years, it is still very physical at times. personally I think its good he got stuck in and showed he cares about wearing the jersey even if that passion is a little misplaced at times. Well in lad! As long as he ddin't cripple someone.
Erm, didn't he run his studs down somebody legs on his way in to a half-hearted 'tackle'...? Seems a pretty clear decision to me.... Whatever the rights and wrongs, the main thing is he's going to be back in one piece - let's hope the same is true for Suarez. GKRK
