Rumoured to be STARTING today, although will prob be only for 60 mins

After just over 1 full yr out with injury lets hope this is the last niggle we see and we see the player we had in the last 18 months, 2 yrs before the injury, where he was comfortably our best player, and to be frank in some game ( usually the big games, this kids a big game player ) he was absolutely f**kin immense

Had a dream last night that he starts our next three games and we win them 7-0, 3-0, 2-1. Homebrew really does strange things to your mind.

If this is the same last the last rumoured team it'll happen. If this happens this is NEARLY the team I want to see.

I think wisdom being out is forcing rodgers hand a bit to do it but the only guy i don't like in there is shelvey. having him and gerrard doesn't work for me. It depends on formation and if gerrar dis really going to play wide and joining the box beyond suarez. If we're looking at some narrow 4-4-2 i think its wrong.

 

The other massive benefit of a Lucas return is no more Downing at left back, or even on the pitch.

 

If this turns out to be the starting XI then I will be disappointed, especially if Lucas gets another knock. Seems like we're rushing him back again IMO.

Gerrard won't be on the wing, Shelvey would be pushed wide. Unless BR has a changed of heart...Gerrard as the F9? Suarez on the right? Doubt it very much!

 

The way the line up is up is put there it implies Gerrard as part of the front 3, but I just can't see it happening as Gerrez says.

 

look guys if he is fit he's fit, that sup to medical staff.. i firmly beleive if your not fit to play you wouldn't even be on the bench.

so IMO gerrard should be pushed forward simply because he's not playing for 90mins he's running forward and not tracking back. so stick him up there.

I would like to see us take gerrard off after 70mins and put suso on and tell gerrard he'd better put in 90mins of his level of effort in that time.

Shevely is the question. will he play more midfield and make it a 3 or will he play wider left or right and be ineffective as its not his game?

Or worst of all will gerrard play in midfield 3 and not track back while shelvey also plays wide and out of position... thats the worst of all.

 

Last weeks rumoured lineup was wrong if I remember correctly.

ButI'd love to see that 11 with Gerrard in the front three.

No, Gerrard wants to play in the middle probably.

 

No doubt he wants to play in the middle but he clearly doesn't want to track back either. We're effectively saying if you don't want to track back then don't, we'll accommodate you instead!

 

Gerrard is capable of scoring the chances that have been wasted by others players in this roles.

 

Again, I agree. I should probably point out that I'm not against Stevie being put on the right, I think it would be a good move and I was putting him there at the start of the season. I just don't agree with 'he's not tracking so put him there' logic
